"Hello?" I answered. My phone had started ringing just as I finished getting ready.
"Come hang out with me!" Mike whined. He had been texting me all morning trying to get me to go hang out, but considering it was the beginning of December and there was snow on the ground. These were the days that I sat in my comfy clothes with some hot chocolate and draw.
I groaned. "But Mike, it's cold outside!"
"Please Colette? We can hang out at my house. It’s warm here," he whined more. I groaned again. The things I'll do for this man.
"Fine," I said, clearly irritated. He cheered, making me giggle. "I'll be over there in a little."
I hung up and stood, grabbing my coat and putting my boots on. I prayed that I wouldn't freeze in my leggings and grabbed my keys, walking out of my house into the cool early December air. I groaned. It was freezing out here.
After what seemed like forever, 'cause let's admit it I was excited to see Mike even though I saw him last night, I finally pulled up to the curb outside of his house. I walked past the gate and up to the house as a few teenagers walked by.
"That house is haunted," one of the guys said. I laughed. "That girl's got some balls."
I stepped onto the porch and looked back. They could still see me but not Mike. He opened it and was about to talk but I put my hand over his mouth.
"Grab me and pull me inside. I want to freak some kids out," I said. He nodded and yanked me inside. I screamed and I heard one of the kids flip out. I giggled. Mike smiled at me.
"That scream was pretty sexy," he said. I laughed and pushed him away playfully.
I sat on the couch. "So, what're we gonna do? Since I just had to come over here."
"I dunno. Fun stuff. We can make hot chocolate. We can watch Christmas-y things while drinking hot chocolate. I don't know. We could do a lot of stuff," he smiled, making me swoon slightly. "We only have a few hours before it gets dark but we could go make snow angels, or a snowman. I could call some people I know and have a snowball fight. Or we could have a snowball fight. Whatever you want babe, I'm cool with."
I was about to start talking until I heard him say it. Babe. It rolled off of his tongue like he was supposed to say it his entire life. My stomach filled with butterflies. Babe...
"Umm, let's make a snowman then we'll see what happens," I said after I calmed myself. He nodded and we went to the backyard. It had started snowing again lightly, and I was glad that he had an extra beanie that I could wear. We started building our snowman, who ended up turning out deformed and weird. He was pretty adorable. We named him Quinton.
By the time we finished though, the snow got heavier and heavier. We went back inside because it was freezing outside. The snow picked up a lot and when I looked outside, I couldn't even see the yard. Mike turned it to the weather channel, where they announced that the roads were closed and it was possible we were having a blizzard. I groaned. I hate snow.
I was still freezing from being outside, so he wrapped me in a fleece blanket and we sat on the couch together. We continued to watch the weather, realizing the snow wasn't gonna stop anytime soon. That's when the power went out. It was pitch black in the house and it freaked me out. I snuggled up close to him.
"It's okay Colette, the snow just knocked out the power. It'll be back on. I'm gonna go get some candles," he said, starting to get up. I clutched onto him. "Babe, please." I wouldn't let go. "Baby, what's going on?"
"Please don't go," I said.
"Why?" He asked, sounding concerned. I stayed quiet. He would laugh at me if he knew. "You’re afraid of the dark aren't you?" I still didn't say something and he managed to get away from me. "I'll be right back.” I closed my eyes. He'd be back.
I heard footsteps in front of me and opened my eyes. I had adjusted to the darkness some and I could see him. I heard the lighter flick and the candle light up. Then he lit another, and another.
"I have more, just give me a second." He walked away again and came back a few minutes later with a blanket that was holding something. He put it on the floor and opened it up, showing at least twenty candles. I joined him on the floor and he handed me a lighter. We started lighting all of them and setting them around the living room. He gave me the last few candles and when I turned around he was laying back on his elbows on the blanket in the middle of the floor. "Come here baby."
I walked over and dropped to me knees next to him. A devious smile spread across his face and he slowly rose onto one arm, getting closer to me. He turned his head and his lips grew closer and closer to mine. Feet turned to inches, inches to centimeters, centimeters to millimeters. I could practically feel his snakebites on my lip when a loud bang made me jump and I started shaking. Nothing good ever happens when it's dark.
Kuza got on his knees in front of me and put both of his hands on the sides of my face. "Ignore the world, okay baby? It's just you and me. Nothing’s going to happen to you. I won't let anything happen to you."
I nodded and he brought his lips to mine, and we kissed. Soft and sweet. Then we kept kissing, and kissing, and kissing, and the kisses slowly got hotter and hotter. His tongue found its way into my mouth and searched it. God, his tongue...
His arms wrapped around me and he pulled me down towards the floor so I was laying on it, moving so he was on top. His kisses traveled down to my neck, all around and then he up towards my left ear. He kissed underneath it and a moan escaped my lips. I was shocked. I didn't expect that. I felt him grin and kiss again. Again, I moaned. His breath was hot and effecting me in all my unmentionable places. I though he was gonna kiss again, but he didn't, He spoke.
"Cerise told me about your dream..."
