Kagura made her way to her bedroom, Sougo following suit. He opened the door for her, an enigmatic smile tugged at his lips as she gingerly walked past him, eyeing his closed lids with her own cerulean pearls.
     "Finally, we're alone."
Flinching at his unsettling comment, she hesitantly turned to him only to be roughly slammed against her veneer walls.
Why do I feel like I knew this would happen?
She thought hopelessly, combating his contemptuous smirk with a stern stare.
"Tell me, Hime, why do you think I'm going this?"
He inquired mockingly, his smirk never wavering. He moved his sinewy fingers to her long vermillion tresses, fiddling with them carelessly.
A sigh. "I do not know why you have decided to revolt against me, Okita. I've nothing that should be of use to you. If you were simply planning to reveal yourself this early, I'm not sure why you volunteered to be a knight, let alone the knight of me."
     "Hmph. You've changed, haven't you?"
He clicked his tongue and pulled away, dropping the smirk for a scowl.
     "How boring."
Something unrecognizable snapped within her as she felt her blood boil.
No, Kagura, you know better than this. You're different now.... F*ck it.
"How dare you accuse me of being boring, you lout! If I were boring, I wouldn't have humoured the idea of getting a knight at all! I will have you replaced with Hijikata Toshirou immediately!"
A look of feint surprise grazed his features before it was once again contorted into that signature smirk of his.
"Now you're like how I remembered you."
He said, seating himself on her velvet couch, placing his shined shoes(it comes with his knight uniform)on the spruce antique table situated in front of him.
"Remove those shoes off of my table."
She demanded, vitriol dripping from her words. Her eyes went to her antiquated but beloved table, scanning it for any scuff marks, to only notice how he didn't move his footwear. Her blood was boiling again. I hate this.... Sadistic beast! That's the perfect word to describe him. He's a...
     "...Sadist."
She snapped her gaze to him, his smirk completely doubling in size and contempt.
     "What?"
"That's what I am, Hime. And I'm still staying your knight."
She scoffed, something that would've been inexcusable to her just a few hours prior.
"What makes you so sure, Sadist?"
His eyes glimmered mischievously, he licked his lips and brought a slender finger to his tan cheek.
"Because you kissed me right here exactly eight years ago."
She had to refrain from chuckling.
"Perhaps you are delusional. Have you just escaped from an asylum? Or, no, do you just lack intelligence? Well, that's obvious to the naked eye."
Her lips trembled excitedly. Her life hasn't been this refreshing since she was twelve. Her face flushed with colour. She was having fun. But she couldn't silence the slight sinister feeling in her gut.
"As I thought, the little monster girl I knew is still hiding in there. Now that I have a basis to go off on, I will tell you about a mischievous glutton monster."

"Oi! Somebody catch that damned kid!"
A shop owner howled from the window of the second floor.
Instantaneously, a hooded boy accelerated past the guards and skillfully leapt over the castle walls of Kabukicho. He sidled on the ledge and jumped down, rolling beneath the drawbridge. He pulled out a loaf of bread and began to eat it hungrily, not letting even one crumb get uneaten.
"Sneaky."
He jolted, immediately drawing his katana and pointing it in the direction of the voice. It's golden hilt coruscated, reflecting the transparent rays of the sun.
"Tell me who you are and I won't kill you."
The person was curtained by a purple umbrella. All that was visible was the hem of a gold lined dress and boots that he assumed were longer than usual. That means I'm dealing with a girl. No matter.
She suddenly broke into an uncontrollable array of laughter, shaking with mirth. She lowered her umbrella to reveal doll craft features and large cerulean depths. She was wearing a cheongsam. Something he only saw in the country he momentarily stayed at. Her skin was pale, almost ivory. But she had colour in her cheeks; her wide grin almost too bright to look at. But what he was most mesmerized by was her hair. It was extensive, silky(obvious to the naked eye)and vermillion. He had heard stories about the vermillion-haired princess and her mischiefs. But never once thought he'd run into her. (Even if he trespassed into her home.)
Closing her unneeded tool, she stared at him inquisitively, her grin settling into a closed lip smile. "Sorry I haven't introduced myself earlier. It's just that I've never been threatened in person. It was quite exhilarating. I couldn't hold back my excitement, you see. My name is Kagura. What's yours?"
She held out a pale hand, much smaller than his. He shook it gently, completely lowering his guard. Something that he would punish himself for later if there was trouble with this girl. I shouldn't give her my full name...
"My name is Sou."
He said simply, promptly sheathing his sword beneath his black cloak.
"I like that name. Why're you here, Sou? Is there really a need for such adamant trespassing? It would've been easier to go around the castle furtively than go straight through it. Less of a chance that you'll get caught."
"My apologies. I wasn't expecting a judgemental princess to be here."
He stated dryly, pulling out another loaf of bread. He paused at her sudden silence. His gaze gravitated to hers to see she wasn't looking at him. Her stare was... Ravenous... He followed her gaze to his bread. He smirked.
"Do you want this? Well, too bad. I'm poor, you're rich. Leave me and go eat a feast inside."
Her face was utterly shocked. Slowly, it contorted into a smirk and she lunged at him, toppling both of them to the grassy ground. She straddled him, stole the bread and opened her eyes triumphantly. There was a short pause before her face flushed a deep shade of red.
"What's this now? You had the gall to tackle a person of the opposite gender; to add to that, a stranger. You take his bread even though you probably have endless amounts of it inside, and after all that, you look embarrassed?"
He plopped his head down with a breathless sigh to realize he felt the grass tickle his ears. No way... Is my...? He abruptly sat up, causing her to slide off of his hips and to the ground. He felt his head and silently gasped.
"Great. You saw me with my hood off. It's okay, send me to the priests. I'd rather be burned alive now than wait later."
"Why would I do that?!" She demanded, euphoria in her eyes, "Your eyes are beautiful! A deep crimson. It fits your flaxen hair! You're very handsome!"
His face burned up as he turned away, muttering, "...I know that..."
She giggled and tore the bread in half. "Princesses eat at scheduled times. I get hungry fast, though. So please let me have at least a piece."
Well, I have five others on me, why not. I'll be on the princess' good side. He nodded and she grinned and handed him the other half. They ate silently, birds and cicadas buzzing and singing altogether. The bustling voices of the town echoed off the walls. He finished a good five minutes after her and was full. However, it was obvious to him that she still wanted more. He shrugged and handed her a full loaf. She accepted it instantaneously.
"You're kind of a glutton, aren't you? You eat a lot. How do you manage to keep your frame so petite?"
He asked, propping himself up on his elbows.
"I'm not sure. I always just ate more than the average person. Maybe I get it from my biological parents."
     "Biological parents?"
"Oh. Gin-cha- King Gintoki and Queen Tsukuyo are not my birth parents. I call him Gin-chan because I've always called him that. But I call Tsukuyo mom. He was in love with her, and they got married and we became Kabukicho's royal family."
He nodded slowly, comprehending the whole ordeal.
"So, as a princess, do you have to do gruelling tasks?"
She shuddered,
"I have to be perfect at absolutely everything. That's why I cherish my times of solitude. I play with my dog Sadaharu. And, if I'm lucky, Gin-chan will have meetings with other kings who have children my age. We play together sometimes... But, I really enjoy this time here with you the most."
She smiled, and something about it to him felt... Lonely? He had a strong impulse to embrace her, his heart rate sped up drastically. He suppressed this urge, however and said,
"Yeah, I really enjoyed this too. But, you know, I could use some combat practice. You know how to fight?"
     "I do. Quite well."
In a flash they were on their feet, clashing weapons and punching and kicking. So her umbrella is a weapon... She landed a mind-dizzying kick on his hip as his sword lacerated her side, making her hiss. This is... Strange. No ones ever lasted this long. How is she so unbelievably strong? Is she originally from some monster race? He was struck out of his thoughts as she snapped her umbrella down on his head, causing him to land painfully on the ground. He heard her mutter something, but his mind was in a blur.
     "..."
What? He awoke beneath the same bridge, except... He felt restless? He brought a hand his head and realized it was bandaged thoroughly. His gaze lowered to the weight laying on his lap. It was Kagura. A cool breeze sifted through his flaxen strands as he gently caressed her hair. So it's evening already. This silly girl didn't just leave me and go tend to her duties inside. He suddenly had a horrifying realization and felt her sides for the gaping cut he created in her skin. Its creamy whiteness was soft and smooth. Not even one slight imperfection.
"Jeez... You heal fast too, huh? Making me worry like that..."
He continued to stroke her silky tresses, smirking whenever she'd quietly giggle. I'm sorry Kagura, but I have to go now... He slowly lifted her off of him, placing his cloak on her to keep her warm. He slowly stood up but was halted by her grabbing his hand. Her eyes were teary, he could see the full moon in her eyes as if her pools of cerulean was water.
"Don't leave me, Sou. I've never had more fun today than any other day... Please..."
She placed a searing kiss on his cheek. He gasped and embraced her, squeezing as tight as his ten-year old body can manage. She squeezed back, her tears wetting his back.
"I'm sorry, Kagura. I have to go. You're a princess, I'm a peasant. I'll return when I'm ready to face you. Goodbye, now."
He left his cloak with her as she waved him goodbye. He slipped over the brick walls of the castle and into the intangible darkness of the night.

"That's right, Hime. I'm your beloved Sou."
Tears began to form in the corners of her eyes.
"I remember. I was so happy. I still have it. I still have your cloak."
His features were grazed with shock and happiness for a split second, before that smirk was plastered on his face again.
"So you see, Hime, you can't fire me. You kept the cloak that has my name stitched in it. Plus, it's unachievable here. I have things against you. And I said I'd be back."
His eyes glimmered dangerously,
"You're mine."
She groaned in defeat. Sou's sadistic level rose so much higher in those last years.
