Nico and the Gotham Ghost

I Promise

   Nico looked at his little sister as they were eating lunch and suddenly felt very sad. He had almost forgotten that he had a mission to complete in his world of demigods and monsters, a world he hoped his sister would never have to see.

"Nico what's wrong?" Katie asked when she saw the pained look on her new brothers face.

   "Nothing Katie. It's just that I have to go." He replied.

   "WHAT!!! Why do you have to go?! Are you going to leave forever like Dad did? Please don't go." She pleaded as she flung herself into her new brothers arms.

   Nico was at a lose for words. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't just leave her like Bianca left him but he couldn't stay either, not with his new mission to complete.

   "Katie?" Nico called to catch her attention.

"Yes." She replied not meeting his eyes.

"I promise that even when I leave I will always come back." He told the little girl who was now close to tears.

"Y-you pr-promise?"

"Yes Katie. I promise I will always come back to see you and Dick." He said smiling up at the other mini Grayson. "And next time I come you've got to teach me how to do a somersault okay?"

"Wait! You don't know how to do a somersault either?!" Exclaimed Dick in shock. "How do you not know how to do a somersault!"

   "Guess I just never learned." He replied smiling at his little brother.

   "We'll defiantly have to teach you how to do a somersault!" Dick said. "Right Katie?"

   "Ya we will." Katie smiled at the thought of spending more time with her new brother. "And since we have to teach you that means that you have to come back or else you'll never learn how." Katie replied content in her knowledge that her brother would now need to come back.

   "Yes, yes I will. But for now I have to go." And as soon as Nico finished those words Katie and Dick surrounded him in as bone crushing of a hug as a six and seven year old could manage.

   A few minutes later Nico was loaded up with all the food he could carry thanks to Mary and he was finally on his way back to Minos when he turned around to look back at his two new siblings. He decided in that moment that even if he couldn't bring back Bianca in the end that at least something good had come out of this trip. He had meet Katie and Dick his new little sister and brother. And maybe, just maybe they might one day fill that hole that Bianca left behind when she joined the huntresses.

   "Nico DiAngelo where have you been!!!"

   "Looks like I'm in the right place." mumbled Nico as he stood before the ghost of Minos after shadow traveling back.

   "Where have you been!" The annoying ghost exclaimed. "You were supposed to shadow travel right back as soon as you got wherever you ended up!

   "I know, I know sorry. I just got a little side tracked."

   "A little side tracked! You were gone for a whole night! What were you thinking."

   As Minos continued to ramble on about stuff such as responsibility and others things that he could care less about Nico groaned. He couldn't wait until he could go visit Katie and Dick and get away from the craziness known as his life.

   And back in Gotham Dick and Katie Grayson were up until morning talking about their new brother and when they'd finally see him again.

Hey everyone! I'm not dead! I'm so sorry about the long wait but I had decided to take a break from Wattpad so that I would focus on school some more. But I am now back! Sorry about the short chapter it was actually originally supposed to be part of chapter two. Anyways I will get you guys the next chapter by the end of the week.
