Zeckiel started to scare me a little. I wasn't about to object to him threatening these wild men who just want to rob us. I wanted to say something though. I stood my ground and kept my spells up. Zeckiel in this moment was all powerful and his eyes seemed to glow. They glowed with his power; his will to stop these men. I can only dream of that power. He looked like a huge raven in the sky. Something that was not bound to any normal rules of light and dark.

The leader of the men said, "What kind of magic is this!"

"It doesn't concern you!" Zeckiel kept up the scary voice.

Zeckiel pushed a man to his knees with his powers. He was being dragged down into a very unnatural position. Zeckiel warned, "Leave."

They all just stared in horror. I yelled, "Zeckiel! Stop! He doesn't deserve death."

He seemed to ignore me and the robber inched closer to his death. I put my spell down and tugged at Zeckiel's foot. I begged, "Can't you hear me? Stop it! Please! You're...you're scaring...me..."

He looked down at me and I stared deeply into his up eyes to show him. To give him a sign. He let them man go and landed next to me. The bandits ran off and I said, "You flick! What the hell was that?"

He seemed to be coming out of some type of daze. He replied with great confusion, "I...am not sure... Let's just keep moving. I'm sorry I scared you. I am not sure what was happening."

......................................................................................................................

We reached the end of the path. I was confused. On my map, it said the village was right here. I looked around and it was just forested area. Maybe we got it wrong and if we did, it meant I'm a blind bat. Menatrisa must've known what was going on. She laughed at our confusion and told us, "Just hold on."

She pulled out an orb and put a spell on it. It floated in the air like a mini crystal ballon we all dreamed of playing with as a little kid. It spoke and a face appeared. They said, "Menatrisa you are cleared for access."

Suddenly, the orb flew up into the air and shined a light on us. Menatrisa said, "Hold onto me while we float up."

We did and I was still scared of heights. I tensed up, but trusted our guide no matter how amusing she though my fears were. Higher and higher I started to see what I was missing. The village is in the trees. We got to the top and the beautiful village was so full of life.

This village was spectacular. It was so alive and I could feel a certain pull. You see, elves used to either live like this or in cities. To be honest though, this was a city. It's huge and it felt natural. Towards the beginning of our species' discovery elves either hat to clip their ears to look more human or live out in the forest. During the war, we still passed down the traditions. We stopped clipping our ears and now ware them proudly.

The natural way to live though has been lost to most. Just not with the wood elves because they want to be closer to what made them who they are today. They will accept help if needed, but no one really knows how they  live. Much of the old ways have been lost. Now that I see it for myself, I feel free. I feel like I'm getting back to my roots as an elf. Back in the old days, we were master marksman and powerful mages. If we were found out about back then, we would be called warlocks or witches. They would kill our kind because they didn't understand it. Before someone left a village, they had to clip their ears. With time, this practice was refined until around the 1900's, humans started to practice magic. Then, these humans had to find the elves to find out how to handle their child.

Eventually, the elves of the time started a group that hunted down these elves and brought them back to their villages. If they wouldn't go, they were given a choice to clip their ears and never use magic again. The second choice was death. They wanted to protect us elves from being found out about. In that time, we were scared and not sure what to do. This group worked until in 2091, a scientist named William Sinders found out he had powers. He was an evolutionary biologist who was determined to figure out how humans became to be. He then found out about the elves when the group responsible for hunting down our kind thought he was an elf. They only monitored him to make sure he was human.
