We got off the plane and the airport was packed. People were on bustling about. Some dressed in suits and professional wear. Others in normal clothes. Izzy said gathering us in a group, "This is my home, let me talk to people because you sound like story book characters half the time." She kept us waking to a line were people in uniform and had belts with a radio device, a black metal rod with a handle, and many other things including hand cuffs. They saw Zeckiel and one of these people whispered to the other. They both nodded and asked us, "Are you some kind of cosplay people?"
Zeckiel said, "Exsuse me?"
Izzy smiled and laughed, "Yeah, we just flew in for SiAmie Con. We are going straight there once we get a cab."
They let us pass and Izzy said to us, "Just keep your heads low and cover your ears as best as possible. They don't like elves as much because well, you guys look different. Especially you Zeckiel. Magic is banned and you could go to an Island out on the Pacific. Being gay is banned. Cross dressing is banned. Any religion that conflicts with theirs is looked down upon and though there is a religions rights act, it's not enforce enough. Free speech is an act but there are some restrictions and Internet is heavily monitored. Immigration is very strict and it could take years to get in. With new fencing technology, no one can leave or get in easily. Flip side, we have low poverty rates, low crime rates, booming business, well financed economy, and new technology being launched every year during certain times for marketing reasons." We walked out side the door and it was like walking into an alien planet.
There were huge buildings the size of the sky's themselves. These buildings reached the clouds and looked like huge mirrors reflecting the majesty of the sky above. These buildings seemed to be made by idle and elegant hands. People were walking around, minding their own business. It was so confusing to look at. The people moved like ants in a colony. The cars were unlike anything I have ever seen. They moved like the people did. Everyone had a place to be it seemed like. I just stood outside the airport in awe. I gasped, "By the essence of the creator above."
Zeckiel put his arm around my shoulders, "I didn't know I was in love with a church girl."
I pinched his arm and laughed, "No. I'm not. I am used to saying that instead of cussing."
Izzy smiled, "This is what natives call, the Republican America. After a political party in old world America before the war. This was once my home. Let's call a cab."
Suddenly, people with cameras and microphones were all around us. I'm guessing this is what you call journalism here. I heard more questions towards Zeckiel like, "Are you really the Prince of the dark side?" "How can humans help with the upcoming war?" "How did you get here if there is a wall?" "How do you think your father feels, Zeckiel?"
Izzy said, "People please! Leave the poor man alone! We need to have some time to look over notes, laws, talking points, and much more. If you want to ask him questions, please ask for an interview. You can call us from our hotel, the Vandergyl!"
All I could think about was how difficult these next coming days were going to be. And, that they were.

By the time we unpacked, got ourselves settled in, the three major news outlets of this faction had called and asked for an interview. Fern sat by the phone and we agreed whomever sits by the phone answers it. They have hologram phones just as the elves do. The difference is, there were these ear plugs that went into your ear for privet mode. They have different cars though. Their cars seem to run on solar energy and some even have solar and hydrogen fueled systems. Izzy explained how they worked and basically you just have to put in water into the water tank, the system takes the hydrogen out of the water, and uses it as fuel. Nifty, is all I had to say about it.
