Saige shuts her computer smiling.
"Ah! He's being all sweet and romantic again I see?" came from a voice with a mellow tone. Ainsley stands up and shakes her light golden brown hair. It falls perfectly on her tan skin. Her eyes are a deep dark brown that anyone could get lost in, if they weren't careful.
Saige laughs. "Why yes he is." Her smile is from ear to ear.
"Oh, ew!"
"What!?"
"Love is gross."
"That is such a lie!" Saige gets up, shuts her computer, grabs her bag for school, and leaves.
Five minutes in on their walk to school, Saige begins to wonder why Ainsley thinks love is gross.
"So?"
"So what?"
"Why do you think love is gross, yet you have sex with almost every guy?"
"Did you just low key call me a slut?"
"I don't think it was low key if I said it to your face."
"What the fuck is your problem?"
"Nothing! I just wanted to know!"
"So, instead of leaving it at just 'why do you think love is gross' you have to insult me?"
"If the shoe fits wear it, right?"
Ainsley stops.
"You know what Saige?"
"What?"
"Fuck you!"
Ainsley starts walking to school, alone. Saige feels no remorse. She has been tired of Ainsley for quite some time and finally it all just came out. She calls Alex.
"Hey."
"Hey. Can you pick me up?"
"I thought you were walking with Ainsley?"
"I'll explain when you get here."
"Alright where are you?"
"I'm at the church near my house."
"Oh. Alright. I'll be there in a couple of minutes."
"Thanks love."
"Of course."
They hangup and she waits. She reads a text message on her phone.
Ainsley: You had no right to say what you said. words hurt you know.
S: sorry?
Ainsley: What is your problem!?
S: I think you are a bad influence. You are always talking about sex and telling me I should have it, then I finally did and it almost cost me my relationship.
Ainsley: okay? thats my fault how? all i did was tell you that you SHOULD have sex. i didnt hold a fucking gun to your head and make you fuck Alex!
S: Just accept that I don't want to be your friend anymore. alright?
Ainsley: wow whatever.
Ainsley: boys our age want sex Saige. you better start wanting it to.
S: I'm not like you, I don't have to have sex with someone to keep them. :)
Ainsley: You don't think Alex wants sex?
S: That's none of your business.
Ainsley: boy are you in for a rude awakening.
Saige turns her phone off and sees Alex pull up.
"You okay?" asked Alex. Saige throws her bag into the back seat. She sits in the car and puts both feet on the dashboard.
"I'm fine."
"You are most certainly not fine. What happened?"
"I stopped being friends with Ainsley."
"Already? You were just walking to school with her?"
"I just think she is a little to easy when it comes to guys."
"I could have told you that! She had sex with almost all of my friends and they all said the same thing."
"What?"
"That she wasn't that good."
"Well, if that's the reputation she wants, than so be it. I just don't want to be involved in it."
"And that's good because, then you will be associated as being a slut."
"Exactly."
"How did this fight even happen?"
"She said love is gross and I told her that she only thinks that way because she is a slut."
"Oh. Wow. Well, you told the truth."
"Exactly."
They go to school. Saige and Ainsley don't talk all day. They only exchange dirty looks.
