Raiden kneels beside her, and mutters something quietly "I'm so sorry, Storm. You Protected me all those years, but I couldn't protect you for one second."

Suddenly her eyes flutter open and she coughs out blood. Seeing this, he nearly goes into shock "Giving up on me already?" she asks. "You're still alive?!" he exclaims, confused "Yeah. I am."

"How are you not dead?" he asks "I..." she trails off, unfocused. The MK III Rolls up to them and Otacon's voice rings out "Storm's heart is on the other side." everyone's eyes widen in confusion.

"What do you mean?" Snake asks, thinking back to the Dead Cell member, Fortune. "Well, I assume that when Storm was still with the Patriots, they preformed surgery to move her heart to the right side of her chest, just in case anyone ever tried to stab or shoot her in the heart."

"That." she groans as she struggles to sit up "Is he dead?" she asks, looking to Vamp, laying defeated on the ground. Suddenly the sound of heels against concrete fills the ruined space.

Naomi.

The brunette carefully makes her way over to them. As she's explaining Vamp and herself to the four of them, Storm is thinking over everything that's brought them to this moment.

"He was never immortal. His natural healing abilities were enhanced by the nanomachines in his body. But after so many battles....he's finally reached his limit." Naomi tells them. Vamp reaches out and gasps "Doctor..... ease my pain."

"Naomi... Sunny asked me to tell you something." Raiden says as he helps Storm stand up and drapes her right arm over his shoulder for support. "What is it?" "'I cooked them right.'" "I see." she says as she turns away from them "Good for you, Sunny. You finally did it." Naomi picks up a syringe as tears stream down her face.

Vamp reaches out to her but she moves away "No...I can't save you... You have to trust me, Dr. Emmerich. Give this to him. Not for revenge, but to end his suffering." she says, handing the syringe to the MK III.

Otacon examines the syringe for a moment before Vamp suddenly snatches it from the robot and injects it into his own neck. Naomi places her arms under the disgusting man as his body begins to spasm. "Now you can return to your true self.....you can finally be at peace." she tells him "I can die?" Naomi nods and he lets out one final scream before falling back into her arms, dead.

"Forgive me." she whispers as she cries even more.

"This doesn't change anything. Why?" Otacon asks "We can't.....erase the past....nor can we forgive it....the only thing we can do.....is end it." she chokes out through her sobs. She retrieves the syringe from Vamp's hand and stands, facing Snake.

"Snake. Liquid's down below us. He's stolen the Patriots' system, slipped out of sight, and taken their ark." she tells him. "Ark?" "A warship unfettered by land, law, country, or network. The only place where they are truly released from the shackles of the Patriots. The place where they can be free. Outer Haven." she explains.

"Outer Haven?"

"Liquid plans to launch the nuke from that ship. Snake. You were given life to fulfill your purpose. When all of this is over you'll have no choice but to accept your death. We are given life only so that we can atone for our sins. Your life was created for that very purpose. We all must atone for our own sins. We must not pass them on to the next generation. We can't leave them for the future. That is your true fate.... One that even you can't defy."

After a while something occurs to Storm, just as Naomi is about to stick the syringe into her neck "Wait." Storm says. They all turn to her "I never got to call you 'Aunt Naomi'." she points out.
