lip's POV

One year has passed since me & Mandy stopped talking. I ended up going to college, I mainly visit on the weekends. Ian hasn't said one word to me. I guess him & Mandy were really close after all. Karen found a new guy, Alex. Karen & I do spend time together lately when he's not home. Atleast she hasn't left me yet. Alex was one of those hippies with long hair till the shoulders, six pack, always walked around shirtless in the house.

"What a douche." I said, as I lied next to Karen in bed, she laughed. "Hey, he's cool." She grinned.

"I'm not so sure about that. What do you think of me?" I asked turning to my side as she got closer.

"Oh you're way cooler!" She jokingly said, making us laugh. She kisses me softly then pulled away when I heard Alex downstairs.

"Hey Karen, I'm home!"

"Shit." I quickly got up & slipped my clothes on, climbing from the ladder I set up outside Karen's bedroom window.

"Bye Lip!"

I smirked at her & climbed my way down, headed to The Alibi Room (Kev's bar), to get a drink to see Frank, always giving his crappy rants about life & the purpose about it.

"Lip! Haven't seen you in a while!" Kev smiled, handing me a beer. "Yeah, I've been just hanging out the family lately. How's V?"

"She's good, she's good, you know what else is good?"

I ask him when he stood on a stool & made an announcement.

"Hey! Drinks on the house! Veronica's having a baby!"

My jaw nearly dropped hearing the news, everyone including me clapped & cheered.

"That's awesome man!" I smiled, taking a sip of my beer as Joe, who worked as a construction worker was sat next to me.

"Shit Kev! Im proud of ya man, V's a keeper," He winked.

Kev smiled & laughed along with everyone else.

"You know what? One of my co-workers, Nick, recently got engaged, honestly wasn't expecting it from him."

"Oh I remember Nick! To tell you the truth he always did scare the hell outta me." Kev responded.

"Yeah same here, he married that Milkovich chick."

My eyes widened, "Mandy?"

"Yeah! Her."

I quickly got off my seat & ran to her house. My heart began pacing. How could she get married? This wasn't her. I know she wouldn't do this. Not if she loved the guy.

I go towards the steps & barge in to see Ian & Mickey chugging beer cans. I walk into Mandy's room when she came walking out of her room. She had bruises & marks on her neck & cheeks.

"L-Lip. What're you doing?"

"What am I doing? What the hell are you doing? You're getting married?!"

I couldn't believe the words coming out of my mouth.

I pull her outside so we could actually talk. She began whimpering when I held her wrist & sat down with her on the steps. She cried & hugged me tightly as I inhaled her vanilla scent.

"Lip, I-I miss you. I didn't wanna get married, bur my dad's making me & I.."

I listened to her words as my eyes began stinging, filling in with tears. I hugged her tightly when it dark. She slowly pulled away & kissed me with her warm lips giving me that warm feeling that I loved so much about her. But this was wrong, so I had to pull away.

"Mandy I can't," I whisper, as our faces were close, & noses touched. We both had our hands wrapped around each other's necks. She sobbed silently.

"I love you Lip."

"I know, I know."

"You go to college now, huh?" Mandy smiled.

"Yeah." I chuckled.

"It's, uh, a load of crap. It's stressful, but I'm pushing through."

"I'm glad your going." She said smiling at me, staring into my green/grey eyes.

I crash my lips onto hers softly.

We pull away slowly as I reached my thumb, against her purple bruises. I gently stroked them as she quietly winced.

"Please don't tell me he did this to you." I whisper.

"He only does it when he gets really mad. "

I couldn't imagine the pain going through her during the time he hurts her.

"I promise I'm gonna make sure he comes nowhere near you, you hear me?"

"Lip I don't wanna leave him, that's the thing.."

"What? What do you mean you don't wanna leave him? Mandy he's hurting you!"

"He makes me feel safe!" She cried.

"No Mandy, you can't be seriously considering this, I-I-I could keep you safe, I-"

"I'm leaving Chicago, with him."

A/N: Oo cliff hanger! This made me cry when writing this.
