Chapter 7

"Promise me you'll call every day" Luke was saying fake crying on my shoulders while I tried to push him away but he was holding on tightly.

"I promise now get off of me" At this point I was seriously considering decking him in the stomach. Luke has been at it for about half an hour now, during which everyone had already loaded their car up and were now saying their good bye to my parents and Darius, Chris, Anna and Jackson who were surprisingly here as well to see my friends off. Anna was the only one who was probably as ticked off as me while the others were simply enjoying the show.

"Promise to come visit every week"

"Now you're being ridiculous I'm not gonna make such a long drive every week just to see your ugly mug." I muttered finally giving up on pushing him away, just simply standing there.

"Oh well. Just wanted to know how many promises I could get out of you" he shrugged as he stepped back with a smirk. Already I'd promised him I'll call, message and email everyone separately every single day. Not that I was planning on keeping those promises and everyone knew that. Maybe I can set it on repeat or something, wonder if that's possible.

I ignored him as I moved towards the others to hug them good bye as everyone got in their car. Susan, Natalie, Rachel and Allison all turned around and we all stepped towards each other together hugging and crying as we said our goodbyes. After a few more minutes of crying and more promises we finally stepped back and everyone got in their car and were soon driving away. I watched them until they disappeared before going inside ignoring the people standing besides me since I was in no mood for company not that I was especially close with the wolves anyway. I was still mad at them for forgetting me.

That night dinner was a quiet affair as my parents were worried about how I'll react since I've been locked in my room the entire day. I was still feeling melancholy so I was grateful for their consideration. I went to bed early that night since I start work in the morning and also I was tired from our eventful week, I haven't had one good nights sleep since my friends got here, not that I was complaining.

The first week of work was hectic and I came home everyday exhausted - that was saying something me being a wolf and all. Even then I enjoyed every minute and every second of my day and soon got used to the work load. Everyday I made a habit of spending nights with my family, helping mom with dinner or helping Max with his homework. After mom's constant nagging I spent Saturday nights out with Anna and Jackson. Mom wanted me to have a social life, she was tired of me mopping around, also she liked Anna and Jackson and was hoping that I'll start dating. Darius was her choice, something about how we make a cute couple, but she said she was okay with who ever it was as long as I got a boyfriend or a girlfriend, she didn't care either way. Surprisingly I enjoyed my nights out and even started to look forward to them during the week.

Months later Luke surprised us all one weekend when he showed up at my doorstep with Anna in tow. Apparently he spent the night at her place. Imagine my surprise when after much nagging, Luke finally admitted that they were dating, that they were going to give long distance relationship a shot. Luke the player who didn't believe in love or dating was in a steady relationship. I was happy for him, just because I didn't believe in mates or love didn't mean that they weren't going to work out. At least I hope not, I loved those two and I'd hate to see them get hurt like that. Seeing them happy made me happy and I was glad I came back. I didn't have to let my past control me, it was over. Things were finally starting to look up for me and I could feel myself relaxing, growing comfortable and enjoying it.

If only I knew how wrong I was, it was a long shot from being over. In fact it was just the beginning.
