Despite what had happened in the Bahamas, we set up a nursery with a sea animal theme. One morning when I was cooking rice with jalapeños for lunch, Annabeth walked in to the kitchen with a bedhead and her, what people called a "baby bump"(I still didn't get that) showing. She started groaning with pain and hugging her stomach, "Percy," she said painfully. she fell to the floor I caught her right before her upper body hit the wood floor. "they're coming!"

After Annabeth put a maternity shirt on, we hopped into my jeep and drove to the hospital. On the way there she squeezed my hand so hard I thought she was going to mash my bones together. We finally made it there after a grueling 29 minutes. They took Annabeth and me to a room with a large bathtub. Annabeth managed very painfully "it's a birthing tub, seaweed brain".

Annabeth took her pants and underwear off, and the hospital workers put her in the water. I took my pants off(though I didn't need to because they wouldn't get wet) and went into the tub with her. Annabeth started screaming. I willed the water to comfort her body, she stopped screaming and started wincing. "Just push, Annie, push!" Blood started coming out. Both our knuckles turned white. Suddenly a baby girl came out from in-between Annabeth's legs. 10 minutes passed and a baby boy came out. the babies started crying for literally about 2 seconds then stopped when Annabeth cradled them in the water. The doctor said he'd never seen children who could be so comforted by water. But the girl was pale and seemed sick, so they took her to ICU.

Annabeth started to cry. I tried to comfort her to tell her everything is going to be alright, but how could when I wasn't sure myself. They finally came out with the little baby wrapped in a pink blanket. I held the baby in my arms, while Annabeth held the baby boy. the little baby girl didn't smile. Annabeth liked the name Amphitrite, I choose the name sally, like my mother, for her middle name. I choose the name Tyson for the boy. Annabeth chose the middle name Luke. I scowled at her, she said she wanted Grover instead. The doctor said we were one "unique" family.

On the drive back Amphy(that's what we started calling Amphitrite) started reaching for the sea like they wanted to grab it and hold it in her hands. Tyson, however, wanted go back into Annabeth's stomach. Annabeth looked like she had just been given the world's biggest encyclopedia on architecture for her birthday. "Hey Annabeth" I said cautiously. "Maybe we could take Amphy and Tyson to Rome or Athens". I felt like I had just activated the detonator for nuclear warhead. But she just said calmy "sure seaweed brain, why not?"
