Chapter 15

Nature vibes

Cel helped me, giving me her perfect vision so I could clearly see what it was.

"Is that a dragon? A green one, could that be yours?" I turned to Emma.

She gasped, and nodded furiously while smiling widely. I smiled, and backed away from her. Pulling Destiny and Zaphkiel with me. They tried to protest, but I shook my head with a smile.

"Elizabeth," Zaphkiel hissed, "We don't know the dragon's intentions, Emma could be in danger."

"Are you jealous of the dragon, I think Khalon was his name?" I huffed, "and for caution, I am going after them. You guys better stay put."

I transformed, leaving them no room to disagree. Khalon had already flown to us in that time and snatched Emma and carefully held onto her, whilst flying back towards the way he had come from. Destiny happily waved at us when we went, but Zach just stood there with a pouty expression.

I flew after them, and Khalon looked back at me. I slightly bowed my head to signal him that I wasn't going to interrupt him. He bowed slightly too, and we continued our flight.

After flying for a short while, Khalon showed signs of slowing down, so I also prepared to land.

Emma smiled sweetly at Khalon after he had set her down on the ground, and I simply laid down on my belly, not bothering to change back into myself. I kept a distance from them, respecting their moment, watching them from the edge of the meadow Khalon had chosen.

Emma walked towards Khalon holding out her hand, and Khalon also laid on his belly, making himself reachable for the girl. Emma pat his nose, scratched his neck, and hugged him. Khalon returned the embrace, positioning himself curled around her and shielding her with his wings.

"I missed you, Khalon," I barely caught Emma saying. Khalon let out a puff of smoke in agreement, and I mentally aww-ed at the sight.

Green mist appeared around them, and I caught changes in the nature around us. Animals gathered around the meadow, including me in their circle. The trees and plants and every spec of nature around them bloomed so green and beautiful, it forever etched into my mind. I couldn't help but wonder if something had happened around me and Celestia too.

The green mist only grew and grew, and even rocks popped from the earth, making patterns on the ground around them. The moments which seemed like hours to me, ended quietly, and the mist faded away to reveal only Khalon standing in the meadow. He looked around and at himself with what looked like a shy smile, and I instantly knew Emma was in control.

All the animals on the meadow were making loud noises to celebrate, and even I joined with a puff of purple fire flying from my mouth into the air, startling the animals near me, but they recovered fast.

When we had celebrated enough, the animals went back to doing their thing, but the nature stayed the way it was. It was like a mark of what had happened here.

Emma turned to me, and I nodded at her. We jumped into the air, and I guided her back to the place Destiny and Zaphkiel were waiting for us at

"You're back!" Destiny exclaimed loudly, alerting Zaphkiel of our nearing.

'Honestly that boy never pays attention to his surroundings,' Celestia scolded in my head and I agreed with her.

I changed back as soon as we landed, but Emma took a little more time in her dragon form.

When she changed again, we sat in a circle, eating the evening (or should I say night, because it was already dark) meal Destiny had made, and set up camp.

Suddenly I was hit with a wonderful idea, and Des quietly asked me, "Uhh, Liz, no offence, but you're smirking really creepily right now."

"Ohohoho, am I really?" I chuckled darkly, "c'mere, I'll tell you the plan."

After we had set up our camp, which consisted of two tents, each meant for two people, Zaphkiel had already put his things in our usual tent. Time to put my brilliant plan to action.

"Hey Emma, I need to talk to Destiny of a really long thing tonight, so I'll be sleeping with her, okay?" I happily told her. She happily nodded her head, not catching on to me. Perfect.

"Goodnight guys, I'll be going to sleep," I exclaimed after a while, and went into Destiny's tent. Des herself quickly followed me after shouting 'night' to the other two. Now the only thing left to do was wait.

"So, uh, I'll be heading to sleep as well," Emma quietly said to Zaphkiel. Me and Destiny struggled to hold in our laughs as we used animal hearing (she her wolf hearing and I Celestia's) to spy on them.

"Yeah. Night," Zaphkiel casually said, and we heard tent zippers from the other tent. Me and Des had to cover our mouths with our hands, struggling more and more.

"W-w-wait, E-Emma where are y-you g-going?" Zaphkiel suddenly said. I heaved in a big gulp of air, nearly giving up on being silent.

"Well, Liz said she wanted to sleep with Destiny, so we switched places, is it a bother?" Emma shyly explained, and I could picture Zaphkiel's face heating up at that. Des clutched her pillow to her face, holding it really tightly.

"E-err, no, all is fine, good night," Zaphkiel struggled finding words. I had been right. I couldn't hold it in anymore, and laughed out loud, Destiny was wheezing next to me.

We were in complete hysterics, and we heard a shy voice at the entrance of our tent, "What's so funny?"

I opened the zipper still wheezing, "Oh, Emma do you want to hear the brilliant joke Des just told me?" I asked her and toppled over in laughter at the sight of Zaphkiel's tomato-red face.

"Oh, uh, no, I would struggle to go to sleep if the joke was this good, and I want to sleep tonight," Emma innocently answered.

I wiped a tear from my face, "Yeah okay. Have sweet dreams, Em."

She smiled at me, and went into the tent to sleep. I kept my head out the whole time. When we heard her breath deepen, signaling that she was asleep, Des poked her head out too.

We both turned to Zaphkiel who was, still red-faced, staring at his tent.

"You can thank us now," Des and I said in sync, and we both watched as his face went even redder.

"Err, well I guess thanks. Don't get any ideas, though. And please don't tell her either," he told us.

I was about to turn back into the tent, but Zaphkiel interrupted me, "Wait, how did you know I like her?"

"You have never blushed this much, and you're making a fuss over everything that concerns her, it's pretty obvious."

"O-oh. I'll try to make it less noticeable then."

"You better. Good night!"

We all went to sleep.

It had been a good day. For me, for Zaphkiel, for Emma and for Khalon. I hoped Celestia and Des enjoyed it as well.

'Rest well, little one,' Celestia softly said as I was finally drifting into sleep, 'you need to rest well, you might not get good sleep in a while.'

'G'night,' I grunted to her, not registering her words fully.
