Wherever you go, go with all your heart.

John
I woke up to a familiar pair of hands shaking me awake gently, telling me in a soft voice that we had to get up now and out of the car. As my eyes fluttered open, I heard the rumble of vehicles zipping across the road in the distance, voices outside, and something else- planes taking off?

“John,” Sherlock whispered as my eyes met his striking green-blue-grey ones. I picked myself up from his side, instantly missing the warmth, and unbuckled my seatbelt.

“Where are we?” I asked, still half asleep. Sherlock chuckled.

“Look outside,” he whispered, and draped his coat back over my shoulders as he opened the door and helped me out of the car. I was slightly uneasy on my feet, having just woken up, so he supported me by wrapping his arm around my back.

“Airport?” I asked, surprised. Why ever where we here?

Molly and Greg were unloading two fairly large suitcases from the backseat, and Sherlock, taking me with him, went around to get two smaller bags which I recognized as mine and his.

“Sherlock?”

“Yes, love?”

“What are we doing here?”

The trio exchanged a delighted smirk at my confusion. “Guess,” Sherlock said. My mind was still waking up, but I gave it a go- Oh, God.

“You didn’t…” I said in shock, feeling suddenly wide awake, unable to hide the smile from my face.

“I did indeed,” he grinned back at me. He was taking me on a honeymoon? I felt myself shaking even though I was perfectly warm under Sherlock’s coat with excitement. I flung my arms around him and hugged him tightly, and he put the bags on the floor for a second, wrapping his arms back around me.

“I love you,” I said into his shirt as we embraced.

“I love you too,” he replied, and kissed my forehead before parting from me to pick up the bags again. Taking one suitcase each, we walked through the large car park, and had the first glimpse of the busy airport in front of us- though it was about 3am, it bustled with activity, people from all over the world running around frantically. We entered through the front doors, and walked through a swarm of people pushing and shoving under fluorescent lights, shouting in different accents and dialects.

The inside was huge with a high ceiling with more floors and corridors above us- Molly and Lestrade had entered with us, saying they’d wait with us for a coffee before we check in.

“Where are we going?” I asked Sherlock happily, and he just squeezed my hand.

“It’s a surprise,” he replied. “We check in at half past three, so we have half an hour.”

We managed to find seats in a Starbuck’s near the entrance, though we ended up having to share one as there as only one table left with three chairs- I didn’t mind at all.

Sherlock had his usual black coffee with two sugars and the rest of us had lattes. I curled up next to Sherlock in the soft leather seat and sipped at my drink. “Sherlock… Oh, God, I just can’t believe it…”

The corner of his mouth twitched upwards in amusement. “Then start believing.”

“This is just so…”

“I know, but I couldn’t let you have a wedding without a honeymoon, could I?”

“So how long are you going for again?” Greg asked.
