It was cold, so very cold, I felt I couldn't breath. It as If I was going to freeze into a solid block of ice where I lay, and I probably would have until she came along down the path in a silver parka sweater wearing two layers of sweat pants and some snow shoes.
She spotted me huddled up in the bushes i was thrown in, she came over to me ,and at first I didn't know what to do. Then I realized that I'm going to die out here out here unless I get someplace warm,I was about to say something before she said, "hey there. It looks to me that you're going freezing your ass off out here all alone. Would you like to come with me to my house so you can warm yourself up?" I didn't answer right away, mostly because my teeth where chattering so hard that i couldn't get a single coherent word out, and because she was so stunningly beautiful, but finally I said,"no I kinda just got lost on purpose so I could freeze to death, its always been on my bucket list and all, so all you're doing is interrupting my plans."
Then she replied with smart ass remark saying, " well then, Mr. I-wanna-freeze -to-death, I guess I'll just be on my way."
I was only having a little fun, and besides I was delirious from the cold so before she could leave I piped up and said," it was sarcasm, sorry near death experiences always puts me in that type of mood". She laughed , and smiled in my direction and came over to help me up. I was thankful for her help, then she asked me, "hey what's your name anyway." I laughed, which surprised me because that was something I did so rarely these days, and I said to her," William. The names William Parker." She laughed and said to me , " Okay then Will. My name is Katrina"
In that moment I knew I would fall in loved with her, but the ones I love usually end up getting hurt, so there wasn't that much to look forward to.
