I woke up and it was already 9:00 am. My mom has to be at work at 8 and normally she tells me when she is walking out the door. I walk to Stevens room. He was in the corner playing with blocks.
"Hi Steven" I said
He ignores me.
"If you are hungry come down stairs I'll make you something" I said
He ignores me again. I walk downstairs and I take out a bowl from the cabinet and a spoon. I get the cereal box and then I hear a knock on the door.
I open the door to see Grayson and Ethan there.
"Good morning Amanda" Grayson says with a smirk on his face
"Hi Grayson and Hi Ethan" I say
"Can we come inside" Ethan ask while looking down
"Sure come inside" I say
We walk inside and Steven comes downstairs he walks straight to the living room and turns on the tv.
"Don't mind my little brother he doesn't talk much" I say to them both
"I see " Ethan says while staring at Steven
I walk them in to the kitchen and hand them bowls.
" you guys interrupted my cereal time so you might as well join me" I say while smiling
"I would love too" Grayson says while he reaches for the frosted flakes.
"So how old are you Guys" I say with a puzzled face
"16" they say in unison
" 16 you guys can't only be 16 that's impossible, you guys are sooo hot"
Realizing what I just said I look down
"You said we are hot, you speak your mind a lot I see" Ethan says as he dips his spoon in his bowl and gets more cereal.
"Why are you guys living alone" I say
"Are parents gave us legal permission to live alone and we are renting the house we didn't buy it" Grayson says
"That's soooo cool I wish I can do that with all the stuff going on in my household" I say
"Is it something you want to talk about, I will listen" Ethan says as he grabs my hand.
I move my hand from his and I get up.
"Anyone wants more cereal" I say
"No but where's the bathroom" Grayson asks
"Yea past the living room down the hallway first door on right " I say
"Thanks, I won't be long"
As Grayson walks out I start to take the dishes from the table and put them in the sink.
"Are you done with that dish so I can wash it" I ask Ethan
"Yea and I can help you with the dishes, I will be drying boy"
"That's a great job Ethan"
"Amanda you can just call me Eth for short"
"Okay Eth"
"And what should I call you, maybe I can call you Amand or Mandy or Anda"
"Ughhhh just call me Amanda" I say while laughing.
Ethan and I finished the dishes and Grayson still wasn't back from the bathroom.
"Grayson is taking a long time" Ethan says
"Yea I'll go check on him" I say
"I'm coming too cause that's my brother"
We walk out towards the living room and I see Grayson talking to Steven they were playing with the blocks together.
"Do you know how to make a castle" Steven ask Grayson
"Of course buddy that's my specialty" Grayson says while helping Steven.
"Grayson has this specialty when it comes to connecting with kids that I cant understand" Ethan whispers to me
I run to Grayson and hug him tight as tears started coming out my eyes.
"What's wrong" Grayson ask me while I'm hugging him
"Steven hasn't spoken to a human since my parents got divorced. I don't know how you didn't but you got him talking and that's a start" I said
Grayson was special. He got my brother talking something that me nor my parents could do for weeks.
"Well I have to go now Steven" Grayson says to him
"Come back for dinner, please" Steven says
Grayson looks at me and Ethan.
"Ok you guys can come back for dinner be here around 7:30 okay" I say while smiling
"Okay Amanda" Ethan says
"I'll see you later okay" Grayson says
"Okay see you guys later"
As I walked them out and closed the door I realized maybe happiness is slowly coming back to my life
