Chapter 2

Authors note: I decided to have Zendaya play the role of Elena. I'll still end up explaining looks but just so you know. Hope you enjoy:)
Ok. You can do this. You are invincible. You've been through so much. You're not gonna let a bunch of teenagers scare you. I quietly pep talk myself in the handicapped bathroom. I don't know how much I'll like this. I walk through the door and some asshole immediately smacks my ass and yells 'ohhh we've got ourself some hot new meat'. I was utterly disgusted, but I'm not gonna pick any fights so I just walked away. I somehow managed to find the principles office by myself. I walked in and was greeted by the secretary lady. Very old and petite with a bun in her hair, she reminded me of my own grandmother. I knocked on the principles door until I heard a come in. "Hello Elena I'm glad you decided to become a Maple!" Oh nice, I got a nice new principle so if I make any trouble it should be easy to get out of. "I'm Mrs. Casper. Here's your schedule. May I say I'm quite impressed with your advance classes you are taking. I know you'll love it here. Oh I almost forgot. All freshman are paired up with another freshman to have a buddy. You and your buddy will have all the same classes so you have someone to get through it. Although most of the time we try to do same gender we had more males than females. So I asked your parents in advanced if it was alright to give you a male and they were ok. So your buddy's name is Alex Frazier. You are to meet in room 305 for geometry. Have a nice rest of your day. And Goooo Maples!"

Oh my lord, well that's just grand isn't it. I look at my map for 305. Shit it's the opposite wing I'm in. What the hell and classes are starting in 2 minutes. I quickly put my things in my bag and haul ass,again, thought the halls until I reach room 305. "Oh you must be Elena thank you for deciding to join us today" a very monotoned female voice says. What chewed her ass up. I was literally 3 seconds late and I was trying my best. "Sorry Mrs.." "Mrs. Cranker" "Oh sorry Mrs. Cranker won't happen again." "It better not, go take your seat next to your buddy and be quiet"

I look through the classroom until I find the only seat available. Wowee was this boy attractive. His dark brown hair. Perfect tan skin. Dark brown eyes. Tall and lean yet muscular. His shirt hugged his body so well. "Take a picture honey. It'll last longer" Oh well that ruined it. "I would but flash scares animals." Ha he thinks he can just have me fall for him with a look, well my friend it takes two to tango. "I'm Alex Frazier and I'm guessing your Elena Johnson. You just follow me I know this place like the back of my hand. When I talk to my friends stay a couple feet behind." Wait did he just say what I think he said. Oh lawdy this boy and I are going have a rough time this year. I don't respond because I don't have time for this, and I can't really think of a come back. So I just focus on the lesson on the board. Mrs. Cranker drones on and on about how high school isn't middle school and that she expects us to step up our game. What seems like forever the bell rings. Oh great I get to stay behind the sacred Alex and walk to history. I completely ignore him and walk out on my own because I'm in independent woman and I don't need no man to be telling me otherwise. I peek back in the classroom just in case Alex notices my absence and he obviously doesn't because some Barbie bimbo is all over him. Whatever I honestly could care less.

I furiously walk towards my next class but on my way I see a familiar face, Lucas. "Hey Lucas where's your buddy" "oh I skipped first period geometry because I just didn't feel the need plus I don't want to be surrounded by Ashley the school slut." "Wait does she have blonde hair, and is she wearing clothes that don't do its use of covering us?" "Yeah im guessing you met her?" "Nope but my buddy is well acquainted with her apparently" "who's that because there are a lot of guys" "Alex Frazier or something" Lucas just looked at me with a sorrowful face. "I'm so sorry Elena. I don't know how your gonna survive this year. Alex is the biggest player in the world. He doesn't give shits about girls at all" "Well he didn't make a good impression on me but don't worry I can handle myself. What's your next class?" "History I think" "Really me too!" Yes. I've got myself the new and improved buddy.

Lucas pov
I just did the worst thing ever. I switched roles with Alex. I'm the player not him. I'm well acquainted with Ashley not him. But I really like Elena, something about her. Maybe her chocolate brown wavy hair. Her smile or her eyes. Or her personality. I don't want to hurt her, I want her to give me a chance and the only way is if she doesn't know me that well. I walk with her to history. And listen to her countless stories of her travels. Like the time she went to Africa and visited family and had a ceremony in her honor. If I were her boyfriend everyday would be a ceremony for her. I know this is weird considering I've only known her for a couple of hours. But it's nice knowing she likes me for me not because I'm good in bed or something. I'm just glad Alex is in the dumps about Sara dumping him. Otherwise they would of clicked instantly. We make it to history with time to spare. "So, I'm guessing in Jacksonville all the guys flocked to you right?" "Well umm it's just complicated. I don't know most of them didn't see me in that way." "What! Wow if I were them I would be happy to flock to you" Yes! I earned a slight blush from her. Her cheeks become the perfect color of pink and it's cute. Before I could continue Alex walks in alone and Ashely is behind him. "Lucas baby why didn't you come to geometry to entertain me! I missed you" Ugh she's gonna get me caught. "Yeah Lucas instead she was over me and wouldn't let me go" Alex looked pissed. Damn what do I do. Elena is looking at Alex than Ashely and shrugs it off and organizes her backpack. "I wasn't feeling good. Don't call me baby Ashley. And Alex you should be happy another rebound for you" I said with a smirk.

Alex pov
Oh this boy must have a death wish. I would fight him but I can't because then my parents will get pissed again.  Just because their 'perfect' son loses his 'perfect' girlfriend, who was actually the boss' daughter at their work. I want to apologize towards Elena not only was I icy cold towards her but then I let her leave without me. "Hey it's me Alex again." She looks up at me but doesn't acknowledge my presence. "I get it your pissed and I'm sorry I was being a jerk" "Well it's all good with me. Go back to your Barbie bimbo you player. I have a new unofficial buddy named Lucas. You can stay with her because it seems like you two just click" ouch that stung "Why would you want to be with Lucas." "Because he's nice. I don't like associating myself with stupid people who use other people for fun" wow interesting you say that. I'm surprised you want his company then. "Ok I'll let you cool down here's my number you can use it for anything." I scribble it down on a sheet of paper and give it to her. She looks at me and put its in her bag. "I don't think I'll use it"

Elena pov
Yeah, I'll totally use your number right after I go rip off all my clothes and join the Barbie bimbos squad of prostitutes I think to myself. I just wanna finish the day and go home and sleep and eat food and text Anna. And maybe I should take up Lucas offer on the show around town. "Hey Lucas actually I would love to go around town with you. I figured my parents would want me to have a social life." I said it loud enough for Alex to hear and his face is filled with disgust. "Thanks that's great I'll come around 5?" "My address is *************" "But Lucas baby you know what we usually do after school. You can come to my house my parents aren't home." Eww what the hell was that. Was the bimbo actually trying to get in his pants. Wow one just isn't enough for a day isn't it. "Ashely stop it I'm done. And don't call me baby I said" I was satisfied once Ashely stormed out the classroom right when the teacher arrived. For the rest of the day I hung out with Lucas. On the bus trip home we talked about cool places in Grand Rapids MI. I was quite excited. I quickly went home and changed into casual black and white track shorts and my freebie t shirt. Now I have to go through the ordeal of talking to my parents about first day of school
