The Summer That Changed It All! (A Josh Hutcherson FanFic)

Chapter 3

I go home and email all my teachers that I wasn't feeling well and get my work. They all respond and I don't have that much to do so I hurry and finish it so I can get ready for dinner. I curl my hair into beach waves. My phone vibrates and its a group chat with me Becca, Marisa, and Kate. Kate and Marisa are asking where I was and I told them I was with TJ. They go on and on about how sweet he is. I just laugh watching them go on and on. I am really fortunate to have someone like him. He has always been there for me. Also, he is my best friend. Ya we kiss and talk all sweet to each other but we can talk like best friends and we act like that. I think thats why we have been dating for so long! I tell the girls I have to get ready and put on my makeup. I don't wear that much just some light eyeliner and mascara then some brown eyeshadow to finish it off. I guess you could say I'm a tomboy but when it comes to finding what to wear I am a complete girly girl! My outfit has to be perfect. I go through half my closet and decide to wear my nice jeans that are tight and flow into boot cut. They have white stitching and are super cute! I wear a nice Hollister tank shirt that is adorable. It's 5:15 so I decide to go downstairs and watch TV until TJ comes and gets me.

TJ comes five minutes early and is wearing jeans and a button up plaid shirt! He looks so good! "Hey honey" he says as I open the door. "Hey! We are still going to Olive Garden right?" I ask "Wherever you want!" he says with a smile. "Then Olive Garden it is!" We walk to his car and he opens my door. (he is such a gentleman) The ride is only about 5 minutes. We both get salad as out meal. We sit and talk about everything thats going on, his trip, school, graduation, and then he brings up NYC. I really don't want to make a ton of plans and then me not be able to go! "So I was thinking about when we will be in New York and there are a ton of things that I want to show you" he stops talking when he notices I am just staring at my salad and twirling my fork through the lettuce. "Whats wrong aren't you excited?" he asks "Ya but Im still not sure I can go and I just don't want to make a lot of plans and then not be able to go" I say (Another thing that I do is I don't get my hopes up on anything because Im too afraid of getting hurt) "Thats fine, but your gonna be able to go!" he says "Whatever you never know" I say back.

Through the rest of dinner we just talk about random stuff. When we finish our food the waiter comes by and offers us dessert and we get the raspberry cheesecake to split. The waiter brings it out on a huge plate and in chocolate drizzle it says "Will you go to prom with me?" I look up at TJ and he says "Will you?" I say yes immediately!! I was so happy!! I hand't really thought about it much but I was so excited! We finish dessert and head back to his car. He takes me home and walks me to the door. He kisses me then says "Goodnight, Ill see you in the morning at school! Love you." "Ok bye love you too." I say. My parents are home so I silently go in just in case they are sleeping.

When I get in my mom is cleaning the kitchen and she tells me that my dad is asleep. I tell her about TJ asking me to prom and she is really happy! We are both tired so we head upstairs and go to bed.

Its Friday and me and Becca are going shopping for Prom dresses. Prom is one week away! I'm so excited. I have been waiting for Prom practically my whole life and now I get to spend it with the best guy in the world. I have always wanted my dress to be exactly like one of my barbie dresses that I have had forever. No, its isn't all princessy. I is long and is spaghetti strap and kinda poofyy but not a lot. I have a picture of the dress. We talk to the one of the ladies that works at the shop and I show her the dress. "We don't have anything like that but we do have people who can make that exact dress" she says. My face lights up and I say "Really that is great but I only have a week until I need it." "Well we can go talk to the head person and see what they can do!" she says as she walks into a room and motions for us to follow. I whisper to Becca "I can't believe I might actually get this dress!"

We walk into a little room and there are about 8 women sitting around an oval table. I show them the dress and the head lady in there says that if they measure me today that they will have it by next Thursday! "Really! Thank you so much" I say. We get everything that they needed and then we go get lunch.

1 Week Later: Prom Night

Its finally senior Prom. WOW Im so excited. The girls are coming over in half an hour and we are gonna do each others hair. I got my dress yesterday and it is perfect! Kate is gonna do my hair in a Katniss like braid but a fishtail. Marisa is gonna do my makeup. I want it simple and a smokey eye wouldn't go with my dress. TJ got a tie to match my dress. It is a weird color but really pretty. The girls are here now and we start getting ready. I do Marisa and Becca's makeup and then do Kate's hair. We finally get our hair and makeup done and we go downstairs to get a snack. We eat and there is about 45 min till our dates our picking us up! I'm so glad that I get to spend this night with my best friends and the best boyfriend ever. We go upstairs and put our dresses on and then my mom wants to take pictures in the backyard. Our backyard is really pretty! There are flowers everywhere and a gorgeous Japanese Blossoms that matches my dress perfectly. We take pictures of all the girls then individuals. The guys get here a few minutes early and we all take pictures. I am so tired of posing and smiling by the end of it.

The guys got a limo for all of us and it is so cool. It isn't a very long ride and then we are at the school. Even though prom is in the gym it looks amazing. We dance all night we dance and sing to every song. The night goes by way too fast. We head back to the limo and the driver drops everyone off and then me and TJ are the only ones left. He asks me if I want to go to his house for a few hours and I say yes. I text my mom and she says its fine.

We get to his house and it is almost midnight. I didn't bring any clothes to change into so he gives me some sweatpants and a hoody to wear. I love to wear his hoodies! We watch Red Dawn which is my favorite movie. Im not into chic flicks and all. The movie is over around 1:30. "Do you just want to spend the night here?" TJ ask. "Sure I just have to ask my mom." I say. My mom says its find as long as I remember the rules. If you didn't get what she meant by rules she means no sex! It is kinda awkward with my mom telling me that but I get over it. TJ and I have talked about it before but we both have said we weren't going to. His parents are out of town and his brother is staying with a friend for the weekend so we have the house to ourselves.

We go and get some food and watch Grown Ups 1&2. When they are over we are both still laughing like crazy. I started crying I was laughing so hard. I was laying in his arms but I raise up and I am looking at his face. "So have you thought anymore about NYC?" I say. "A little but I thought you didn't want to talk about it anymore?" he asks. "Well I decided that we should look forward to it and plan stuff that we can do because I really think I can pull my GPA up." I say. "Good because I know you can." he says. "I was wondering if you wanted to stay with me and Chase because there is an extra room and you could still stay with your sister on the weekends and shell be busy with work and school during the week. But don't feel pressured whatever you want." I say. "I would love to" he says as he leans over and kisses me. It is a long and passionate kiss. I just think about how lucky I am to have him.
