Chapter 3

Lana's POV
Finally schools out and I walk to my locker. "Hey Lana?!" I heard a voice yell from the right of me. I turn my head and see Nathan. "Yeah?" I responded smiling. "Would you like to be my partner for the science fair?" He asked smiling. "Of course." I said smiling. "I'd love to" "Cool. Meet me at the mall at 8 and we can go back to my house." He said smiling. "Okay. See you then." I said smiling, walking down the hall. I get out my key and jump into my car. Cameron. Dad. Park. I freaking forgot to meet him! I started my car and sped as fast as I could.

I finally make it to the park and I look around. I spot him and run over to him. I stop in my tracks when I see him with someone. I hide behind a tree and peep from behind it. It was a girl? Look around his age. Long blonde hair. Piercing blue eyes. Tan. Skinny. Perfect, straight, white teeth. She was drop dead gorgeous. But a little out of my dad's league. I decided to get enough courage to walk over so I did. "Hey daddy" I said with a fake smile plastered to my face. "Hey sweetheart! This is Harlow. She works for me. Harlow this is my daughter, Lana" he said smiling. "Nice to meet you" she said smiling. "Nice to meet you too" I said through my gritted teeth. "Lana. Me and Harlow are going on a walk. Would you like to tag along?" Cameron asked linking arms with Harlow. I checked the time on my phone. 6:46. Should I? I have to meet Nathan at 8 so I don't know if I should. I have to go home, shower, and change. So maybe not? "Well? Are you?" He asked breaking me from thought. "Uh.. Sorry. I can't. I have a science project due so I have to work on it." I said. "Oh? Science project? Do you have a partner?" He asked. "Yeah" I said shying away from saying it. "Girl or boy?" He asked sternly. "Boy" I murmured. "What was that?" He asked raising his voice. "Boy! Okay?!" I yelled, causing people to look at me and I look down. "You go where you need to then you go straight home. I'll deal with you later." He said angrily, walking off with his little "girlfriend". I storm off and get into my car and drive to my house. By the time I get there it's seven and the mall is at least 25 minutes away. Freak! I run into my house and get in a shower. I get out and put my hair in a messy bun. I put on eyeliner and mascara on and grab my phone to check the time. 7:45. Geez. Time flies. I grab my keys and run downstairs and out the front door and run towards my car. I get in and turn it on. I back out of my driveway and speed off to the mall.
*Skips Car Ride*
I pull into the parking lot of the mall and it's pitch black because the mall closed 2 hours ago. I look at the time 8:17. Freak! He probably left already! I'm so dumb! I pull around and don't see him anywhere. I stop the car and put it in park. I lay my head against the steering wheel and bang it softly against the vinyl. Why?(bang) Why?(bang) Why?(bang) I lay my head back against the seat and sigh. I've let so many people down. All of a sudden, I hear a tap on my window. I jump and look over to my window and see the cute boy I was waiting for. I smiled and opened the door, turning my car off. "Hey beautiful" he said grabbing my hand and kissed the top of it. I blushed a little and tried to hide it. "Shall we?" He asked all proper. I giggled and said "we shall". We walked over to his truck and he helped me into the truck. "Thanks" I said smiling. "My pleasure" he said shutting the door and running towards his side. He gets in and we head to his house.
