I was on my way to practice as usual at 5:30 in the afternoon. My mom would drop my brother off at soccer practice and I would be on way to gymnastics. "Do good Max!","We'll be back from Scarlett's practice by 7:30 to watch you some okay champ!"
"Mom you don't have to say this every time you drop me off you know." "Oh I know honey, but I'm still going to say it anyway." "Love you sweetie." I hate it when she says that around the guys. "Love you too mom."
"Bye Max", I said. "Try to actually score a goal this time", I joked. "Try to actually score a goal this time", he mocked sarcastically. On my way to practice all I could think about was the Olympics. The women's gymnastics team was truly breathtaking. "Mom." "Yes dear." If I make it to the Olympics do you think dad will be back?" "I don't know sweetheart." "This war is taking much longer than expected." "But what I do know is that you can make it Olympics in 2020." "My mother used to tell me anything was possible as long as you got some hope." "Grandma sounds pretty wise", I stated. "She was alright I guess; I mean she was the first person in her family to ever go to college." "But she was also the first one to set the house on fire trying to cook some ramen noodles", she laughed. "Yeah she sure was something special." " I think about her sometimes and wonder if she's proud of us or if she's up there watching." "Skrrr", the car squeaked as we pulled into to gyms driveway. "Get out little girl, if you plan on making it to the Olympics you're gonna need all the practice you get!" I ran into the gym ready for another day of hard work."
"Alright girls, to close practice I want to show you a video of a girl deemed to be, the greatest gymnast of all time". My coach showed us a video of a girl named Simone Biles. Me and my teammates watched in awe as she flew in the air with such poise and gracefulness. "This young lady does moves that not even men can do". I couldn't believe how talented she was. "Now if you girls stay focused, you could end up just like her one day, and win a gold medal". After practice all I could think of was that video and the expression on her face after she found out she won gold. "Mom, yes Scarlett?" I'm going to be the next Simone Biles". "I know you can baby". "And I'll be there every step of the way".
On our way to pick up Max, I fell asleep after such an exhausting practice. My mom was on the highway about to turn on the radio whe-, "CRASHHHH". Our car was hit by a careless driver who had been texting on his phone. He then sped off. My mom in shock immediately looked back and called my name. "SCARLETT ARE YOU OKAY SWEETIE". *no response* "SCARLETT PLEASE SAY SOMETHING". I was bleeding in multiple areas, unconscious from my head being slammed in the crash. My mother called the cops and we were rushed to the nearest hospital.
The time now was 8:00 and Max's practice just finished. He asked one of the parents. Mrs.Lewis , Have any of you seen my mom?" She's supposed to be here at 7:30 like she always is". "No I haven't seen her either but how about I give her a call". "Thank you", Max replied. "Hello?" " Hi, I'm one of Teresa's friends calling to know where she is, is everything okay? "I'm sorry to tell you this ma'am but Mrs.Jones and her daughter are in the ICU at the moment from a car crash". "Oh my gosh, are you serious!" "Is everything okay", Max asked worrying. "Max you have to ride with me today okay". "Okay." "Are we going to find my mom?" " Yes sweetheart, everything is fine, I promise. She, her son, and Max sped to the hospital.
