Serena's POV

For a couple seconds I think we were just staring at each other...wow this was awkward and strange in so many ways...it looked like he was as shocked as I was.

I played with my fingers and looked down,"Umm...sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going.."

"No, no I was the one who wasn't looking," he scratched the back if his head.

He reached out his hand,"Here let me help you up."

I took his hand and he helped me up,"Umm, thanks." I wiped the dirt of my jeans.

We stood there in silence for a moment. "I don't think we have properly introduced ourselves." he said. "I'm Drew, Drew Chadwick."

"Serena Hale. Nice to meet you," I smiled.

"Serena.." he said to himself. "That's a really pretty name."

I blushed,"Thanks."

"So um..not to be rude but what are you doing here?" I asked Drew.

"I live here," he replied.

My eyes widened and my palms started to sweat. Well this is awkward and unexpecting...

"What is it?" he asked.

"Uhh..I l-live here too.."

He grinned. "No way! I live right up that hill." He pointed to the hill I just came down from.

I gulped.

"Where do you live?" he asked me.

"Well actually it's a really funny story you know because I uh..well I--"

"Serena are you ok?"

"Uh ya..ya I'm ok.." I looked down at the sidewalk.

"So anyways where do you live?"

Dammit. I wish he didn't ask again. Hopefully I don't ramble on about any more stupid shit. I talk and lot when I get nervous, and my face gets really red which is even worse.  "I live up that hill also.."

This time he was really happy. "Wow! This is so awesome we can like hangout all the time and get to know each other better now!"

"Yaaa.." I laughed nervously. "Well I have to go to the super market my mom told me to go get some food..umm where's the super market exactly?"

He smiled. "Here follow me. I'll give you a tour."

It's not that I don't like Drew. Don't get me wrong he is really nice and funny but I'm just really shy and uncomfortable and it kinda takes me a while to get used to people.

After he gave me the tour and we went to get the groceries, it was about 8:15 and it was dark outside. We walked up the hill and started to get to know each other better.

"So Serena, I've never seen you around here before. What brings you here?"

"Well I grew up in New York and my life was prefect and normal until I saw my dad making out with his business partner..and that's why we moved here," I told Drew.

"Oh..I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," Drew mumbled.

I grinned. I actually started to feel more comfortable around him now and it felt good to talk to someone about it. "No it's fine. It's good to get it off my chest."

"Well, if you ever need to talk, I'm here." He looked at me.

I nodded. "Thank you."

"So how old are you?" Drew asked me.

Dang this is starting to feel like an interview. "I am 16, almost 17."

"No way! My close friend Keaton is 16 too! I actually live with him, and his brother Wesley. He is 20 and I am 21."

Yes! This is actually pretty cool. I have neighbors that seem really chill and are close to my age!

"That's awesome!" I said trying not to get too excited.

We finally got to my house to the top of the hill. "Well this is it," I said.

"This is too weird!" Drew said.

"What?" I asked.

"My house is right next to yours!" he exclaimed. "Here let me give you my number so we can hangout tomorrow or something."

He put his number in my phone and I put mine I his. "Cool. So I'll see you soon?" he said.

"Yeah, see you soon." I waved and went inside.
