Chapter Two
The next day, Amanda, Eric, and I headed down to the spot where I arranged to meet the guys. We were up earlier and had already rented the car. Gael and Gabriel bought like 4 other people, but we only took those two because the car only had two other seats. The jeep, actually. We drove forward, making small talk, Eric driving quickly.
“The cliff!” Gael suddenly shouted. We had driven to the edge of the cliff. “OH CRAP!” Eric yelled, acting his part out perfectly. “The break’s JAMMED!” Eric lied, his feet pressing faster on the accelerator. Gael and Gabriel were the only two who had their seatbelts on. Oddly, they kept their backpack on, but we said nothing.
We flew off the cliff, Gael and Gabriel screaming loudly. We spread our wings and leapt to the other side, quickly disappearing form site. Eric gave me a high five as we raced back to our camp.

“I told you we couldn’t trust him!” Gael Adams shouted angrily at his brother. The two of them were floating on their parachutes, slowly making their way down to the ground. “I saw them before they dropped. They were the Uniques,” Gabriel added quietly.
Gael’s eyes considerably lit up.
“Yes!” he said, smiling. “We are going to get them,” he said, laughing manically. Gabriel followed, and by the time they reached the ground, they were already on their way to getting their gang. Nobody messes with the Adams and gets away with it.
*Back at Camp*
The Uniques celebrated their ‘victory’ quietly, not wanting to make too much noise. I sat quietly at the same spot, watching the sunset. “Hi,” Amanda said, taking a seat. I said nothing. She nodded silently and drank her vodka.
“I’m never going to marry you, you know that,” I said outrightly. “I know what I did was wrong. But someday you’ll forgive me. Someday,” she said quietly. I stood up and shook off the dirt. “Someday, I’ll forgive you, but today’s not that day,” I said quietly, walking off.
I went over to Quinn’s house again, and she was happy.
I wanted to convert her to a Unique so, so badly, but I couldn’t. Not yet, at least. I should give her a chance to graduate, to live a normal life. We mucked about for a while before watching a movie. She fell asleep before the movie ended though, but I left after shutting the television. I couldn’t handle this. I would convert her any minute in this room, where she was sleeping so peacefully.
I slept early, dreaming about one day finally joining her as one, when we mixed our blood as true soul mates. You see, the thing about us is that we have “Special SoulMates”. When the time is right, when both of you are a Unique, you will imprint her, which meant mixing her blood with yours so that the two of you will always have a part of each other.
However, imprinting can be forced, and I’m pretty sure that’s what Amanda and I were going to do if we got married. Forceful imprinting is painful, because it’s like piecing two pieces of a puzzle that doesn’t fit, but not caring and just using brute force to make them fit.
I woke up with a start. Someone was calling my name. Oh god, there were gunshots. I blinked quickly and focused. Gael and Gabriel? They were still alive? Oh crap. They followed the footsteps we left behind.
The unicorns were fleeing, and so did I. I raced to check that everyone was awake. Everyone was, but I couldn’t find Amanda. I raced to the spot where we sat and she was there all right. “We have to go now!” I yelled. She turned around, but it was too late. I felt the gun behind me as the holder pushed me to sit next to her.
