Maddy is a thirteen year old girl and unsure of her own abilities, she is happy living with her family in London, she goes to school and has fun, she has friends, and everyone seems to enjoy it, but she has noticed changing things in herself, she notices that people are always treating her differently but her friends, one of these things is that they'll keep their distance from her because they think she's weird, she has a friend named James who's on crutches and a new student here, she has another friend named Georgia, they've been friends for quite a while now and never leave each other alone.
Then one day, Maddy gets in the car with James and he doesn't take her home,
"James where are we going?" She asks scared,
"They're coming for you and we're going somewhere a lot safer than here."
