Chapter 2:

As soon as the door closed behind the doctor I was up. My eyes roamed around the room looking for an escape, but the door was the only exit in the root. I let out a frustrated groan and hauled my body up from the bed. I winced screwing my face up in pain as my feet made contact with the cold floor. I slowly lowered the rest of my body of the bed. I turned my body around and dragged my feet toward the exit, the sheer will power to move my feet had me sweating and panting for breath. Trying to keep myself up straight I slowly opened the door ‘Coast clear’ I thought. I stepped one foot out of the door and started for the bathroom on the end of the hallway. I luckily made it there without being stopped. I went over to the mirror and looked at my reflection. I was shocked, I was pale, and my skin was almost translucent. I had a bandage wrapped around my head. I slowly raised my hands towards the bandage and lifted it up. I was horrified at what I saw, a big red gash ran over the whole entirety of my forehead, stitches gleamed in the overhead light. I pulled the bandage back over the sore and turned around to go back out the door. I pushed open the door slowly sticking my head out; people were in a hurry running around “She’s not in here! Keep looking” a bald older gentleman shouted out panic clear in his voice. I quickly pulled my head back inside the door and clicked the lock on the door; I knew it wasn’t going to last long. Just as that thought raced in my mind the door started to bang furiously “Come on Emerson open the door! Everything’s going to be fine” a voice beyond the door yelled out it sounded like the doctor. My eyes scanned around the room furiously looking for an escape, the door continued to shake violently throughout my panic. My eyes landed on a window just above the sinks. I quickly scramble up onto the sinks trying not to lose my footing on the slippery surface. The handle to the door started to rattle and the distinct sound of a lock clicking unlocked rang throughout the room. My panic if possible increased by tenfold. My fingers kept slipping as I tried to unlock the window ‘ARGH!’ I screamed out in frustration, finally the lock came gave way making the window fly open, with many people piling into the room. I jumped up and out the window. Looking down to the oncoming ground I thanked god it wasn’t a big fall. Everything seemed to slow down as my body left the window. The ground slowly came closer to me. . .
