Jason walked out of his class. He was on his way towards the cafeteria but there was something different about the school hallways. It's not the fact that it's decorated with Halloween decorations that made it different.

It's not the amount of people wearing Halloween costumes to school. It's the topic of conversation. It's not about his break up with Marie but it's about the mysterious number that he heard from the guys in his previous class.

They were all talking about how their wish got granted but some are bummed at the fact that their wish can't come true. They were all talking about her excitedly.

His curiosity got the best of him so he tapped a random girl's shoulder. "Hey, can I ask you something?"

The girl who was talking in excitement stopped talking abruptly at Jason's voice. Her friends gave him a smile and some are trying not to squeal. She turned around hesitantly. "Yes?"

"I was wondering why are there a lot of people talking about this mysterious number?" Jason asked curiously.

"I don't know how to explain it but if you are really curious, you should try calling her." The girl shrugged.

"Since I got nothing to do so why not?" Jason grinned. "What is her number?"

The girl grabbed a piece of paper from her locker and wrote down on it. "Here is her number."

Jason grabbed the small piece of paper from her and read the number out loud.

"Thank you," He gave her a toothy grin.

"It's my pleasure." The girl smiled. "But if I were you, I wouldn't call the number after 12AM."

"Why?"

"Some people say that disaster is going to happen if you call her after 12 at night." The girl gave a nonchalant shrug. "I don't really believe it but it's better to be cautious."

Jason gave her a big grin again. "Thanks?"

"Maria."

"Thanks Maria for satisfying my curiosity." He mocked salute her.

"You're welcome." She mocked salute him back. Then she turned around to tell him something more about the number but he had already walked away.

Jason walked away from her with the mysterious girl's number in his hand. He didn't know what he was going to do with the number but might as well keep it.

Jason woke up in the morning feeling refreshed for some unknown reason. He stretched his arms and got up from his bed walking into his bathroom to do his usual morning routine.

After he was done using the bathroom, he picked up a white muscle tank and loose jeans to wear. He slung the strap of his bag on his shoulder, whistling a tune while walking toward the kitchen.

His mum, Miranda looked at him weirdly. "For a guy who just broke up with his girlfriend, you look really happy." She said throwing him an apple.

Jason caught it in the air and took a bite before answering. "Is it a sin for me to be happy?" He asked jokingly.

Miranda chuckled at her son. "I love seeing you happy but you just broke up with her so I was weirded out seeing you happy."

She looked at her son for a moment. Now it was Jason's turn to feel weirded out. "Mum, what are you doing?"

"I'm just observing you." She then put a hand on her chin. "You are not planning to kill her do you?"

"What the- Mum no," Jason laughed. "As weird as I am, I don't wanna end up in jail for killing my ex which is going to waste my time."

"Good for you," Miranda tapped his head. "I raised my son right." She wiped fake tears from her eyes.

"You are so dramatic." Jason rolled his eyes.

"Yes I am, now get your ass up and head to school before you are late."

"Alright mum." Jason stood up and kissed his mother's cheek. "Bye mum!"

"Bye sweet cheeks." His mum hollered from inside laughing afterwards.

Jason got into his car and drove it to school. He parked his car at the students parking lot and looked at himself in the mirror. As much as people thought that the broke up doesn't affect him, it really does. He just wouldn't show it.

"Jason, she is not worth it. You are hotter than that guy and," he frowned at himself, "maybe that's the reason why Marie broke up with you. You are too selfish, always thinking about yourself and not others." He sighed at himself.

He locked his car and walked toward his locker, grabbing his stuffs. Then, he heard whispers so he looked up to see Marie walking in with a new guy next to her.

She looked happy like the fact that they just broke up yesterday did not make her feel guilty at all for finding a new guy within a matter time of 24 hours.
He shook his head and told himself, "Don't let her affect you. She is just another one of your problems."

He held his head high and winked at a group of girls causing them to squealed in happiness. Their squealing caught the others attention and soon all the girls were ogling at him and their attention was no longer at his ex and the guy she cheated with.

He made his way to the toilet and saw that there was no one around the toilet's hallway. He slammed the door shut in frustration at his ex-girlfriend. Why couldn't she wait for a week to be with that guy?

He know he was the one who broke up with her but at least she could have given him some time to recover from their broken relationship which had been a crumbling mess, he thought to himself. He stood against the toilet's door with his eyes closed. He walked toward the sink and opened the water tap. He splashed his face with some water.

He looked at himself in the mirror trying to look for flaws to criticise. Criticising about himself always help to distract him from the real pain. He closed his eyes yet again.

"666." He heard someone whispered in his ear. He gulped and did not dare to open his eyes in case of seeing something terrifying whispering the numbers behind him. "666-666."

'You are not a coward, there is totally nothing here.' He tried to tell himself. So that's what he did, he opened his eyes.
