Helena watched as Jason walked toward his group of friends. She had to admit the fact that he is very attractive. She couldn't help but think of him and his chiseled jaw. She knew that it was too early for her to develop a crush on someone but she can't help herself.
She really hope that she could turn her feelings off like a television with just a click of a remote control. Sometimes she find it hard to control her feelings. As if someone is controlling her emotions, which in this case would probably refer to her heart. The heart wants what it want no matter how dumb it may look or sound. When her heart desire something, she would go all out just to get the stuffs that she desires and when she cries, she would have a hard time trying to stop it. The same goes when she feels angry or happy.
She shook her head and grabbed a lunch tray from the lunch lady. She bit her lips as she looked around for a place to sit. She noticed some students staring at her and some even turned their heads down when she looked at them but nonetheless they still continue staring at her.
She saw Jason sitting with his group of friends but she didn't want to bother him. So she walked toward an empty table near the back of the cafeteria. To do that, she had to pass a group of girls who were all staring at her and they didn't even try to make it seemed as though they weren't staring.
She ignored their stares but stopped when one of the girls called her. The girl had her long black hair in a ponytail. Her lips pulled up into a smirk as she waved for Helena to come over to their table. Helena returned the smirk and strutted toward the girl's table.
"Hey, you are the new student right?" The girl asked her.
"Yeah, my name is Helena." She smiled at the girl.
The girl who had her black hair in a ponytail and seems to be the leader of the group eyed her up and down. "You're so pretty. Do you wanna sit with us?"
"Sure, I mean if you guys don't mind." She tilted her head to the side with raised eyebrows.
"Of course we don't mind silly!" One of the girls scooted to the side to give her some space to sit.
"I forgot to introduce myself," The girl chuckled while playing with her hair. "My name is Marie."
"Oh hi Marie, thank you for letting me hang out with you guys. I seriously have no idea where to sit at first," She groaned while looking up.
"You're welcome." She laughed. "Tough first day huh?"
"What do you mean?" Helena furrowed her brows in confusion.
"I mean it's your first day and everyone just kept on staring at you as though they've never seen a girl before." Marie grinned while looking at a group of boys who were staring at Helena with longing.
"Tell me about it." Helena chuckled. "God, they need to chill. They didn't even try to make it seem as though they weren't staring at me."
"You'll have to get used to it, hun." Marie patted Helena's back. "Especially since you're hanging out with us."
"I am?"
"I mean if you want to," She shrugged her shoulders. "I could use a new friend that won't backstab me." She whispered the last part.
"Huh?"
"You are silly! I bet we're gonna be good friends."
"I hope so." Helena smiled.
________
"See you after school!" Marie said before waving at her.
"Yeah sure!" Helena hollered back before walking to her next class.
Most of the seats are empty since most of the students haven't filled in the class yet. She noticed a girl who was writing something in her notebook and walked towards her.
"Hi, is anyone sitting in front of you?" She asked the girl.
The girl looked up with a bewildered face. "Uh-uh n-no." She stuttered.
Grace chuckled at that. "Why did you stutter? Is my face really that scary?" She pouted jokingly.
The girl gave out a small laugh before answering. "No it's not that," she scrunched her nose in embarrassment before continuing. "I was just surprised because you're really pretty."
"Aw thank you, but you're prettier!" She complimented the girl back, sincerely of course.
The girl looked down at her lap. "Oh I wish."
Helena pursed her lips while staring at the girl.
"I'm being serious. You're pretty okay?"The girl shook her head. "I wish people would think that when they look at me. Unlike you, my hair is so straight to the point where it becomes flat." The girl's hair is tied into a ponytail and she patted the top of her head to emphasise her point.
Helena laughed before shaking her head. "Shut up you're so pretty. Besides if you think that your hair is flat, it's totally something that can be fixed."
The girl's eyes twinkled in excitement. "Oh my God. Really? But how?" She sighed.
"By using a hair spray silly." She chuckled. "Choose the one that says voluminous spray or something."
She shrugged her shoulders."Oh my God, thank you! You're a lifesaver." She gave a wide smile. Her smile was so wide to the point her eyes became wrinkled at the side.
"No biggie," she winked at her before turning around to face the front.
