"What are you talking about?" Ben asked her. "Is this why you pushed away your own children?" Ben was mad. I interrupted this conversation. "I could care less what your deal is with me right now, I want to know what happened to Carter, you remember the other child you abandoned? And don't lie to me, I smelled you at the house, you were there earlier today." Ben looked like he had been slapped. "You had something to do with your own son's disappearance? I feel like I don't even know you. You had better spill everything and I mean now!" he yelled at her. She sighed, "I took Carter to keep him safe and away from her. She isn't my daughter. One morning I was going for a run and there was this little bundle on the front porch with a letter asking someone to care for their child. I couldn't have any more kids after Carter and I wanted a little girl so bad that I didn't think anything of taking her in and raising her as my own. As she began to grow I felt that there was something different about her so I took her to a friend of mine, who is a powerful witch. She told me that Anna was a powerful wolf, a descendant of an ancient line of arctic wolves. That she would grow to be beautiful and powerful. She would be a great leader. She also said that if I allowed her to grow up and shift, her wolf would be the death of me. She put a binding spell on her to keep her from ever being able to shift and told me to keep her away from other wolves. I tried many times to just kill her when she was little but I couldn't do it."
"What the everloving fuck is the matter with you? Who the hell are my real parents? Where the fuck is my brother? Why shouldn't I kill you right now?" I yelled at her. "He is nothing to you, but he is my son and I will protect him!" She yelled back. "You left, dad died, Carter has been the only one who has ever taken care of me. He IS my family and I am his family. You are nothing to either of us. You should have killed me when I was little because if you have hurt Carter in any way, I will end you." I said in a calm even tone. Joe, Bryce, and Ben were just watching us with wide eyes, not daring to get in the middle of our argument. She lunged at me and we tumbled to the ground, I ended up on top of her. I pinned her arms to her side and held her down. "I am glad you're are not my mother, you are a selfish, spoiled, cruel person. I hope you rot." I spat at her. "Tell me where Carter is or I will rip out your throat right now!" She spits in my face and I punched her hard in the jaw. Bryce grabbed me and lifted me off of her. "She isn't going to talk, we will lock her up for right now, ok?" He whispered in my ear and I nodded. He let me go and I looked at Ben. "What do you know, Ben? Where is my brother?" Ben looked at me sadly, "I'm not sure, Anna. God, I am so sorry, I had no idea." I smiled at him, "I know Ben, you may stay here as a guest just as long as you don't try to kill me." He laughed, "I promise and thank you." I nodded.
Later that evening, after everything was settled, Bryce and I were cuddled up in bed. "Are you alright, Little one?" He asked me. "I don't know, everything is so confusing. I don't even know who I am." I said as a tear leaked from my eye and slid down my cheek. Bryce kissed it away. "It doesn't change who you are, my love. You are my mate, our Luna, and nothing can change that. I love you more than life itself and I will do anything to make you happy." I sighed, "I am a bit nervous about changing for the first time tomorrow. I wish I knew who my real parents were, what happened to them, and why I was just left on that psycho bitches door step."
"You know, I could ask some of the elders what they know. They seem to know so much about werewolf history maybe they could at least point us in the right direction. We will have to ask them in the morning because they are old and have probably been asleep for a while." Bryce tells me with a chuckle. I smirk and snuggle up to him and drift to sleep.
I open my eyes and there is a tall man with black hair and crystal blue eyes standing over me. "Do not fear me, my child. My name is Stephan and I am your father. I have been granted an audience with you from the Moon Goddess because your life is in grave danger. Listen carefully, your mother, Jane, and I are the original wolves of the arctic, all wolves are descended from us. You are our actual child, the last we were able to have. We lived for over a thousand years and were very powerful. You are the last of the pure Arctic wolf line. All of the other wolves have started here with us, but over the last thousand years, have formed new lines and different kinds of wolves to fit into the areas that they live. We, is upas wolves, number in the millions and are spread all over the world. I am sorry, but you have no living blood relatives. Your mother knew we were dying, our time here was over but we didn't want to leave you to be raised by strangers. The Moon Goddess told us you would find your mate here, so we left you with a family that we thought would care for you. We chose wrong and for that I am sorry. You are strong, though, for that I am grateful. You are different than any other wolf and tomorrow when the full moon rises and you change for the first time, everyone will see you for the leader that you were born to be. You are my beautiful daughter, and I love you. Be strong."
