The cabin is pretty deep in the woods. It takes us an hour to get there. When we get within about twenty feet of the cabin I catch a familiar scent and it isn't Carter. I start to growl and Bryce and Ben look at me like I have lost my mind. "Connor!" This brings a growl from Bryce's throat. Ben, please don't pee yourself, I think to myself. We sneak around to a window at the back of the cabin and peek through. Carter is chained to a bed with silver chains. He has been beaten and is sleeping. I see the door to the room is closed and he is alone. So we carefully open the window and slide inside. Carter is in bad shape. "I don't have any gloves and that silver is making it hard for him to heal." Ben whispers.

I am done being quiet. I tell them to stay with Carter and I kick open the door. Connor is lounging on the couch but when the door flies open, he jumps to his feet. When his eyes meet mine, he grins. "Well, well, well. She told me you might come looking for your brother. How is he by the way? I didn't know how much wolfsbane to use, Mary didn't tell me much." He laughs and I lunge at him. He hits me and it knocks me down and I jump back up. "Go unchain him, NOW!" I roar at Connor, who just laughs. "You act tough, but I beat your ass once already and I will do it again, then I will finally get what I wanted from you, bitch." I waste no time, I start hitting him. Then I grab him by the throat and drag him into the bedroom. "Unlock him, now."

I shove him towards the bed. "Fine, he is probably as good as dead anyways. Then I can chain you to the bed, what fun we can have then." He sneers. I just shake my head, he hasn't even noticed Bryce and Ben. Who both let out low growls making him jump and quickly unlock Carter and drop the chains to the floor. "N-Now w-what?" he stammers and I grin. "Now Ben helps me carry my brother out of here and I let you get to know my mate, Bryce. Have fun." Ben and I lift Carter up and carry him into the living room where there is more light and I gasp.

Poor Carter looks like he is on death's doorstep. "There isn't anything we can do for him here. We need to get him to the pack doctor and fast." Ben says solemnly and I agree. Just then we hear a scream and Bryce comes walking out of the bedroom. "I have linked my Beta, a team is on their way to take care of the prisoner and transport Carter back to the pack house for medical attention. I didn't kill that bastard yet. I want more information out of him first. plus, I would like to see Mary's face when we tell her what that loser did to the kid she was supposed to be protecting." We all nod and just then we hear a bunch of vehicles out front.

Robby and Jordan come through the door. "We have four-wheelers, they are faster than walking." Robby winks at me. "Since someone can't shift and run yet." I stick my tongue out at him and he laughs. We all load up and are on our way back to the pack house. Then I heard a slight whistling sound before I was knocked off the four wheeler and pain exploded through my back. I hear someone walking towards me and the smell is familiar but I can't place it.

"I guess today is my lucky day. I missed you, Anna. I wanted my turn but that dog took off with you after killing my friends." He sneered at me. "Mason? I thought you were dead." He shakes his head. "Don't move around too much, Anna, it will only make it worse. Silver arrow laced with wolfsbane and it will pump into your system faster the more you move around. Connor was my best friend and I was very angry when I found out you had him arrested, but then I saw you the next day and I was angry that he could do that to you. I know that seems ironic being as I shot you with an arrow, but hear me out, ok?" I nod. "Right, so anyway, then those assholes decided to make things worse by trying to the same thing as Connor, so when the wolves showed, I hid. But then they took you, Anna, they took you and never gave you back. I love you,Anna, I have for years." He strokes my face and a tear slips from the corner of his eye. "You have choice to make here, you can either be with me and I will take out the arrow and let you heal or you can die." He shrugs. "I can live without you, but you won't"

I nod, I can't hardly move anymore, I can't talk, I all I can do is feel the burning pain throughout my body. Mason scoops me up and starts to carry me off away from the cabin and away from the pack. We reach a campsite, complete with tent and a fire. he shifts me so he can unzip the tent and lays me on my stomach. "Brace yourself, Anna, this is going to hurt but I have some medication that will make it all better in no time." I nod and he rips the arrow out of my back. I whimper and he immediately buries his face in the crook of my neck. "I'm so sorry." He whispers and pulls away and rubs something cool and soothing onto the wound. I immediately pass out.

I slowly open my eyes to see Mason sleeping soundly next to me, but not touching me. I am relieved. I am still in enormous pain but I can move. I take me time to keep my heart rate steady and my breathing even so as not to wake Mason. I look around the tent and a flash of silver catches my eye. The arrow, he left it next to me on the floor. I grab it quickly, this wakes up Mason but it's too late for him to stop me and plunge it right into his heart, killing him instantly. I double check, to make sure that he is really dead and slowly pull myself up to a standing position. The sun is just starting to set, so I must not have been out long. I try to mind link with Bryce, but my head too fuzzy. Fucking wolfsbane. I am not staying here waiting for rescue like some damsel in distress. I'm gonna find my way home and then I am gonna shower and kiss my mate until he can move. I follow the familiar scents of my pack for what seems like forever. I finally see the outskirts of the pack house yard and just as I reach the grass, I pass out.

"Why isn't she waking up!" ......................."Wolfsbane" ............................"May not, no wolf"

These voices are giving me a fucking headache, I wish they would stop yelling. "Shut up" I murmur. "Anna? Oh, Goddess I thought you would never wake up!" the voice says. "Need shower and kiss mate" I mumble. Then there is laughing. "Less laughing more shower kisses." I say sleepily. I slowly peel my eyes open and see the most wonderful sight, Bryce. I shoot up put of the bed and straight into his arms and sob. He shushes me softly and rocks me back and forth, soothing me. "I thought I would never see you again, I thought I was going to die." "I'm so sorry, I failed to protect you. As soon as you fell off that four wheeler, I lost your scent." he shuddered. "I was hit in the back with a wolfsbane laced silver arrow.  Mason did it and carried me off to his camp. He pulled it out and I passed out, when I woke up, he was asleep but left the arrow laying there, so I stabbed him in the heart with it and followed my nose back here." Bryce growled. "I will someone out to deal with the body. This shit is getting ridiculous." I couldn't help the giggle that erupted from my throat. Bryce cocked an eyebrow at me. "What could you possibly find funny, little one?" I shrugged, "I am nothing but trouble."

"I'll second that." I whipped my head around and saw Carter standing there, leaning against the door frame, smiling at me. I squealed and ran into his arms. He grabbed me up in a bear hug and I winced slightly but he caught it. "What's wrong, Lil sis?" I shook my head. "How are you doing? Did Mo-Mary tell you anything? How did they take you? This is all my fault, and to top it off, I don't even have any real family left, damn it!" He tilted his head to the side and looked past me to Bryce who nodded and scooped me up and we all headed out of the clinic to the comfy living room of the pack house. They were both very quiet and I was worried that this was it, they were going to kick me out, reject me and I would truly be alone.

Despite my best efforts, a tear broke loose and slid down my cheek as we all settled down on the couch. I tried to get up and move away, I need distance if I was going to take this blow with any kind of dignity, but Bryce grabbed me and pulled me onto his lap. Carter caught the tear with his finger and glared at it. " I know where your sharp little mind is going, Anna, and I don't like it. I will always be your brother, blood or no blood. It has always been that way and it will always be that way. I don't care what that psychotic bitch says. From the minute I met you, I loved you and swore that I would protect you with all that I had. You and me, kid, you and me. Now you also have a mate and a pack to call a family. You make everyone love you as soon as they meet you. Well, almost everyone." He took a deep breath and smiled at me and I let the breath I didn't know I was holding woosh out. "Now, Mary came to me and told me that Connor had gotten out some how and that you were in trouble again, so I went with her and when we got to the cabin, she injected me with something to knock me out, I was out of it until I heard your voice. I never thought my baby sister would be saving me." He laughed.

"When I came to in the clinic, they filled me in and I paid Mary a visit, she is no mother to me. I told her if I ever saw her near you again I would kill her myself. Now tell me what happened to you." He looked at me expectantly. So I told him everything starting from my birthday on. He smiled and bowed his head, "My Little sis is the Luna. Perfect."
