At lunch, Hoseok sat down with Jimin at a table with their friend, Yoongi.
"So where did you guys disappear to?" Yoongi asked, raising an eyebrow at Jimin.
Flustered, Jimin looked down at his lap then back up to Hoseok with a questioning look.
Hoseok stepped in, deciding that it wasn't the right time to mention that him and Jimin were in a relationship. "I had to show him a project I've been working on. I wanted his opinion."
"Oh, okay." Yoongi said, resting his chin on his palms.
Jimin let out a sigh of relief now that Yoongi dropped the subject. Hoseok entwined their fingers together under the table and gently squeezed his hand.
"What was your project?"
"Oh, it was just for my choreography class. We had to come up with a new dance, and since Jimin is an experienced dancer, I thought he'd be able to tell me when I need to do to improve." Hoseok said, smiling at Jimin.
"You should show me after school today. Maybe we could critique each other? I've been working on a new song and I haven't shown anyone yet, but I'd like for you guys to be the first to see it."
Hoseok thought for a second, trying to figure out how to politely decline. He didn't want to insult Yoongi, it's just that he wasn't sure if he could actually come up with a new dance on the spot. "Maybe tomorrow. I'm a little busy today."
Yoongi nodded and stuck a fork full of food in his mouth. "So I was thinking-". Yoongi was suddenly cut off by a brown haired boy slamming a plate down and sitting next to him.
"What's up? I'm Taehyung." The boy said, holding his hand out to Hoseok.
Hoseok stared at him in confusion for a second before hesitantly shaking his hand. "I'm Hoseok. Nice to meet you."
"Hmm..." Taehyung said, licking his lips. "That name sounds...enticing." He smirked, looking at Hoseok.
Flustered, Hoseok adverted his gaze and looked down at his lap. Jimin gently squeezed his hand to reassure him, then glared at Taehyung. "I don't think he appreciates being patronized."
"And who might you be?" Taehyung asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm his bo-...I'm his best friend, Jimin, and I don't like you talking to him like that. Besides, he's not interested in boys, especially boys that treat him like he's their next meal." Jimin spat.
Hoseok looked at Jimin and rubbed circles on his hand with his thumb. "It's okay, Jimin," He then looked at Taehyung and gave him an apologetic smile. "Please forgive his attitude. He's not normally like this, but I would appreciate it if you wouldn't talk to me like that."
"Sounds to me like you guys are more than friends." Taehyung looked at Jimin and put on a fake frown. "You lucky dog. Does he scream?" He asked, smirking and raising an eyebrow.
Yoongi looked at everyone and picked up his plate, "This is fucking grotesque." He then walked over to the trash and threw away his food on his way out of the cafeteria.
Jimin stood up and glared at Taehyung, "You need to back off,"
Taehyung stood and leaned in closer to Jimin, "Fine." He picked up his plate and tossed it in the trash as he left.
Hoseok looked up at Jimin and gently pulled him back down to his seat, "You need to calm down. I can handle myself, okay?" He began rubbing Jimin's back to soothe him.
Jimin sighed and nodded, "Okay. It's just that I just started dating you and someone is already trying to take you away," he said in a hushed whisper.
Hoseok bit his lip and looked at Jimin, "How about we go to my place after school? Maybe you could help me choreograph a new dance? I mean, you know, since I told Yoongi that I would show him."
Jimin smiled and squeezed Hoseok's hand, "Sounds great."
