Harry waited under the tree for Jace to pick him up. He didn't want to see the lad today, hoping that he can spend some time with Gemma today, but he can't just say no to him. He was scribbling in his journal, not really sure how he's feeling.

He did notice Louis and his group of friends standing at the same place Harry has seen the lad stand this morning. As usual, they were all smoking and Niall was just talking about something.

Harry didn't pay too much attention to them. They weren't interesting, but Harry was glad that Louis didn't snap at him for sitting next to him in almost all the classes. He just thought it was safe because Louis didn't seem to mind when Harry was forced to sit next to the lad. Besides, everyone else in the classroom were hoping that Harry wouldn't sit next to them, which was a shit feeling to Harry.

It's not like Harry was going to be friends with Louis, but he wasn't expecting Louis to not care.

It's sort of stupid, but maybe later on Harry can have at least one friend without telling Jace. Jace wouldn't want that and Harry didn't want to upset the lad knowing that Jace is capable of doing something that Harry wouldn't like.

Harry looked back up to see that it was only Louis who was standing against the wall smoking at least another two cigarettes. Harry scrunched up his face. He doesn't like smoking, or seeing smokers, but for some reason Louis made it seem okay.

It still doesn't change the fact that he's killing himself slowly, but Harry noticed how calm Louis looks. It made Harry want to go up to him and say hi, but he's just too shy to say anything. Harry felt his phone vibrate, so he picked it up. He saw a message in his message box, so he unlocked his phone.

I'll be there in five minutes

Harry grimaced.

Okay

He locked his phone and put his journal in his backpack. His back was killing him, it has been all day. He can tell that the bruise was going to be staying for a while longer since he kept hitting his back against the chairs, or was being shoved to the lockers.

He was used to the pain anyways. It wasn't okay, but he was used to it. Every bruise he gets were just reminders that he needs to fix himself for Jace. It was pretty obvious that Jace wasn't a good boyfriend, that their relationship wasn't healthy, but Harry thought that Jace was the only one who could accept him.

That wasn't true, obviously, but Harry thought so. He's been dating Jace since the tenth grade. They met at some party and Jace just couldn't let Harry go. It wasn't like Harry wanted to go. They argued a lot, but then Jace got violent once. That was when Harry was going to walk out of him.

It didn't work because Jace promised that he wouldn't do it again, and Harry believed him. He let him smack him around, use his body for his own pleasure, let him say nasty things to him, but Harry tried so hard to forgive him. He figured that maybe Jace was just lonely and didn't know how to cope with his feelings.

It's obvious that Harry always focused on the good to a person when it comes to things like this. He's very forgiving and cares for people deeply. It's just wasn't healthy for Harry to be in that type of relationship. He tells himself that he loves Jace, that he can't leave him because Jace needs him right now.

He always figured that maybe Jace needed Harry's love to make him better, but he can't make him better. He can't tell Jace to stop smacking him around because that will only make him mad. He can't tell Jace to stop touching him because he will tie Harry up and touch him all over.
