Niall and Zayn didn't show up. Louis wasn't surprised though, but they both stayed against the wall as the shorter lad smoked.

"If they aren't coming, why are we still waiting around?" Harry asked as he scrapped his shoes against the pavement.
The shorter lad shrugged, "I usually don't leave until I feel like it."

Harry nodded. His phone was buzzing from his back pocket so he grabbed it and answered it.

"Harry."

"Oh, uh, Jace," Harry swallowed.

"Hey baby. What time do you want me picking you up from your mum's place?" He asked.

"Jace, my mum wants me there tonight. I can't keep coming over to your house, I live there and she wants me home," Harry said.

Louis pretended not to listen to Harry's conversation. He shouldn't, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to know why Jace is a bit too clingy and possessive. It's not his business, but Louis just didn't understand why Harry hasn't put Jace in his place.

"Don't talk to me like that! Your mine Harry and you have to be with me everyday, so I'm picking you up at late. Sneak out if you have to, but you are coming home with me," Jace snapped.

Harry wanted to cry, but he said the only thing he knew he had to say, "okay, I'll see you later then."

When Harry hung up the phone Louis stepped on the cigarette bud and crossed his arms, "I'm guessing your going to have somewhere to be, so let's head on over to my house."

Harry sheepishly nodded, but followed behind Louis. "Are you going to walk next to me, or keep a fair distance?" Louis asked.

Harry turned a crimson red and sped up to be next to Louis, "Sorry."

They walked quietly to Louis' neighborhood. Harry still had that journal clutched to his chest while he walked down the road with his head down. Louis doesn't know if he was annoyed or amused to the fact that Harry was still walking with his head down.

"You shouldn't walk with your head down, you'll run into something," Louis said. Harry shrugged, "you'll tell me otherwise."

Louis chuckled, "you sure about that?" Harry nodded, "we're friends right? That's what friends are for. You will make sure I won't run in to something because that's the right thing to do."

"And how are you so sure I'm that type of friend?"

"Then I guess I'll just have to find out," the taller lad shrugged.

It still surprised Louis that Harry agreed to be his partner--let alone talk to him. It's not like Harry has never spoken to anyone, he just doesn't talk to people unless they are the ones who is trying to start a conversation with the lad.

He didn't want to be left hanging without an answer if he decided to talk to someone.

"And your willing to risk getting hurt just to find out if I would tell you to watch out or not?"

Harry shrugged, "I've risked more things then trusting people I barley know."

"And what do you mean about that?" Louis asked.

"Oh nothing, I tend to also keep secrets," Harry said.

The shorter lad didn't bother replying. The only image that kept popping up were the bruises and the frightened look he had when he saw the lad at the shopping mall. He wanted to get the image out of his head, but when he turned to look at the lad, he saw that he had long sleeves to cover up his arms.
