Aghast

Renesmee POV

I felt Jacob's warm chest under my body. He was still asleep. I looked at the clock across the room to see 6:45 am. I usually got up around that time. Being me, I don't need as much sleep as humans do. I carefully got up trying not to wake Jake up, even though I knew he could sleep through anything. I walked to the bathroom and decided to wash my face.

I didn't really need to wash anything, everything of mine always stayed clean. But that doesn't mean I always felt clean. I hated doing something dirty and then feeling dirty for a long period of time. I didn't take showers that often, maybe about twice a month. It sounds very disgusting, but I promised Jake that I am clean. Of course he made jokes about not believing me. I hadn't taken a shower this month, so I decided to take one here, just to get every experience my mom got to have on her honeymoon.

So I washed my face and went into the bathtub. I decided to take a bath instead of a shower, just because it was more soothing, I guess. I played music in my head phones, the ones Jacob got me for my birthday one year. I liked to listen to classical music, especially piano. Maybe because that's basically all I have heard, I don't know.

When I got done washing my hair I dried off and rung my hair out in the towel. I put it over my head and twisted it twice, and threw it over my head in a wrap-kind-of style. I grabbed my robe to put it on and went to my suitcase, trying to be quiet. I found some jeans and a tank top, and went back to the bathroom to put them on. The tank top had a pink floral print, with pink flowers and a turquoise background. The jeans were just regular skinny jeans, because I hated baggy things.

I decided to go hunting. I put my tennis shoes on in the living room area and left a note in case he woke up and realized I was gone. I had caught a couple deer and, my favorite, a mountain lion. Me and my mom's favorite, actually. When I got back, Jake wasn't there. I was confused. Maybe he had gone hunting too? Probably.

I got my book off the table that said "The Ocean Blue" and started reading. I had already read this book about four times now, but it was my favorite. It was about a boy who found out about things called mermaids when he went fishing one day and saw a tail. He decided to go investigate, and when he had found them, the mermaids were astonished. Though their species were endangered, and as much as the boy told his family and friends about them they didn't believe him. He fell in love with one of the mermaids on the way, and after they had saved their species, they wanted to marry. But a human could not marry a mermaid, it was the number one rule in the mermaid kingdom. So they both decided to die, together, so that they could marry in heaven.

It seems cheesy, but it reminded me of Jake. That's the main reason why I love it so much, because I think of him. Even though, I do think of him all of the time. He's just so perfect with his warm tan skin and black silk hair. I read about six chapters until I realized it had been a long time since Jacob had been back. I called him numerous times without a pick up. What could he be doing? Why couldn't he just wait till I got back or just tell me where he was going?

I looked around for a note, and finally I found one on the kitchen island.
Go to the nearest tree towards east on this island.
What? Why would he tell me to go there? I went ahead and put on back my shoes. I put my hair in a high ponytail to get it out of my face, since I'll be running. I opened the door and located east, which was a little left to in front of me. Another good thing a vampire is good for.

I ran and ran, for about five minutes. I wasn't sure why it took that long, was this island really that big? I got to the tree that smelled like Jake. I could have just followed his scent, but I decided to play along with whatever game he was playing. Hopefully it wasn't a prank. I saw a note stuck on the tree, but I had to climb to get it. For pete's sake why is everyone so much taller than me?

I got the note and read it.
The place we tend feel the water.
Obviously it was the ocean. So I put the note in my back pocket and ran to the ocean where we swam last night. It was beautiful, still, even in the daylight. I looked around, and I couldn't find it. I looked in the sand, by the trees, by the rocks, but still nothing.

It couldn't be in the water, then the paper would get wet, wouldn't it? And I didn't want to get my clothes wet, nor did I want to take them off. I pulled out the note again. The place we tend to feel the water. Is there somewhere else with water? I tried to think. There could be a lake near by, but I doubted it. Plus, we've never been there, and it said where we tend to go. A pool? But I never saw any pools near by. Maybe it's not outside, maybe it's inside? The bathtub?

I ran to the house, opening the door with one of the keys I had. It looked like someone had been in here. I sniffed and was relieved when it had only been Jake's scent. He must be doing this while I'm trying to figure it out. I went to the bathroom and got the next note. This was actually fun, I felt like I was in a movie or something.

Come here when your feeling lonely, a second version of our place.
The rock. But of course that rock wasn't here, so this must be a similar version of it. I put that note with the rest and started running. How did he expect me to find something I've never seen or don't know where it is?

I found a few rocks, but none of them were big enough nor had a note on them. I sighed and started to walk. I was getting tired, and frustrated. But I didn't want to follow his scent, I knew he didn't want me to do that and I didn't want to do that. He knew I liked surprises. After nine minutes and twenty-one seconds of walking, I found the rock. It was more than similar, it was almost identical. The only thing that was different was that this one had more sharp edges. But no matter how identical this rock was, our rock would always be our rock.

I found a note on the bottom of the rock, which I had to pick up to get it. It wasn't that heavy, it felt just like picking up a shelf with books on it. Which was barely hard for a vampire. Water falls, water falls in this place, the note said. It was the waterfall, which we hadn't been to, but he had shown me it on the way to the house for the first time. He said we would jump off, just like cliff diving. Except that it was no where near as high as cliff diving, but it was still high enough. I ran through the trees past the house. He had to make this so hard, I don't think I'll be energized enough to do what we were supposed to do today. But I'll try, I promised.

I knew I was getting close when I smelled the water and heard the waterfall hitting the water below it. I got there, and already saw the note on the rock the waterfall was falling from. He couldn't get it wet. I jumped up and caught a ledge, then climbed the rest of the way. I grabbed the note and just jumped off. Now I was getting excited. I read the note when I got away from the waterfall. The last place, is where you thought the second was.

I pulled out the notes and read the second one, which was the one about the water. This time it must be the beach. But why didn't I see it before? He probably saw when I got the one in the bathtub and then put the one here afterwards. I ran to the beach which barely took any time.

I knew there wasn't a note here. I saw someone standing in the distance, my Jacob. I smiled, and saw the flowers he was holding and the ones around him. I came up to him and hugged him as tight as I could, not caring if I hurt him. "I was worried about you!" He laughed and pulled me back to look at me. "There's something I want to do, Ness." I clenched my eyebrows together in confusion, but went along with it. He set the flowers down. He took a big deep breath and he was suddenly not in my standing view anymore. He had one knee up, one on the smooth sand. I was so filled with aghast I didn't move. He reached in his pocket, and pulled out a black box. I started to cry. "Renesmee Carlie Cullen, will you marry me?"
