Chapter 2
Allie
I was moving. I knew that much. All I saw were shapes and blurry images around me. The familiar sent of my family's estate had disappeared and I feared the scent that I did smell.
I remembered wolves. I remembered fighting them off with my older brother. They had him pinned. My heart raced as the fresh panic filled my chest, the memory of Archie's trapped body filling my mind.
I had fought back. But something happened before I could. I remembered a pin being stabbed into my neck. Or was in a needle.
Allie!
My body shook as Archie's voice filled my head, shattering my heart.
Allie! Get the hell off me! Allie!
And that was it, that was all I could remember.
Slowly, the world around me started to return. My legs ached which confused me. If my legs weren't walkin', then how the hell was I movin'?
I looked up and frowned when two blurred figures came into view. Their ruff hands were locked onto my arms, dragging me through the forest. Draggin' me? Why the hell were they draggin' me?
I feared the answer to that question.
Mumbling a few syllables, I found that I could speak.
"W-w-h-o-o ar-e o-o-u?" I struggled to say, feeling the burning taste of vomit in my mouth, "w-wh-at a-re y-ou you doin'?"
I wanted to ask more but my eyelids grew heavy and closed.
Who were these people? Again, I feared the answer to that question. I felt as if I did know but I couldn't put my finger on it.
Allie! My body jolted as I remembered Archie's screamed again, get the hell off me!
Why was he so panicked? I mean, besides from the fact that wolves came out of nowhere and attacked us. What did he know that I didn't?
I think I blacked out for a bit. The world around me had changed and I no longer felt the air between me and the ground.
Instead, little twigs scratched my arms and poked the back of my head. A large rock was jabbing into the bottom of my spine and no matter how much I told my arms to move it, they wouldn't.
I frowned when I felt the familiar texture of hands around my wrists and heard clinging sounds.
"W-wh-at a-re you-u d-d-in'?" I mumbled trying to stop the turning earth.
Something solid and cold was wrapped around my wrist. A bracelet? A bangle? Why was someone givin' me jewellery?
A bright light came out of nowhere, burning my eyes from where they hid under my eyelids. I moved my arm to try and cover my face from the soft height but found something weighing it down. The bangle maybe? Was it a bangle?
"P-please," I stuttered, realizing that whoever was above me, mustn't have known who I was, "my f-family, m-my b-bro-th-her, h-he's the A-Alpha K-Kin-g."
When nobody answered, I begun to wonder if I had even spoken.
"M-my b-broth-er w-will g-give you mo-ney."
Slowly, my strength returned and I could sit up on my elbows. My vision was returning but all I really saw were trees and a man, fiddling around with chains.
I frowned, realizing that the bangle that I felt was a black metal shackle. He was locking me up? The bastard!
"What are you doin'?" I asked, raising my voice shaking the chain, "what the hell are you doin'!"
The man stepped back, finished. With my other arm, I went to swing when something stopped me. My body whipped around and my eyes widen when I found another shackle, chaining me to a tree.
"You bastard!" I screamed, "do you have any idea who I am? Do you have any idea what my brothers will do to you?"
Rough hands took me from behind, forcing me to the ground. A scream escaped my lips before I even realized.
A different face came into view, one I recognised. He was a few inches from my face which only caused my anger to stir.
"Davy," I said out of breath, frozen as I started to connect the dots.
If Davy Acheson was here, in front of me, does that mean I was...? I couldn't even think it. It was impossible.
A sickly smile spread across his face as he played with the small strands of my hair.
"Aw, so you remember me, how sweet?" He said, titling his head.
"Get. The. Hell off me," I growled through my teeth, returning to my usual hard, stubborn self.
"Or what?" He asked, "you'll kill me. Hard to do while chained to trees."
"I'll do a lot more than kill you if you don't let me go right now," I warned.
"Sorry, Princess," he said backing off and allowing me sit up again, "but Macangus wants you to stay. Says your important."
"Well, if he even shows is ugly mug around here, I'll rip, his head off! Now let me go!"
I pulled against the chains, ignoring the laughter behind me.
There was no way in hell that I was staying, chained to trees, vulnerable, in Macangus territory. I was surprised that I even had a blanket to cover me from the stories that I heard.
Sticks snapped behind me, before I realized that Acheson was now standing.
"I would save your strength if I were you Patterson. Your goin' to be here for a long time."
With that, the world went black.
