I forget that life isn't always beautiful with happy endings. Sometimes it's scraped knees with no kisses. It's broken hearts with no explanation. It's changed locks and 'who is this' texts. Maybe that pain and sadness is what makes it feel real. Maybe it's the sometimes that make those sleepless nights end. Maybe, just maybe, that what keeps me hoping when there's no reason to do so. I forget that life's not always beautiful, but that's no reason to think it's ugly.
