Flynn picks me up by the waist and spins me around. He gently sets me down in the cool, damp sand. The sun has long since gone down, and a soft moonlight bathes the shore. I sit down cross legged, still giggling.

"I love you, Kaylee." He whispers, leaning it so our fore-heads are barely touching. I can feel his soft, warm breath on my lips.

"I love you too, Flynn." I say back, my voice slightly raspy.

He inches closer, filling in the small gap between us. He gently presses his lips against mine. His lips feel soft and feel perfect against mine. He runs his hand through my hair.

"You're perfect." He whispers, he lips still touching mine.

And then my alarm clock goes off.

----

My eyes squint open and look around my room. The walls are still white, my jacket it still hanging on my desk chair, there's still a poster hanging, and there's still a hole in my wall from when Kasey threw my door open and the handle went through.

I plug my iPod on the docking station and crank the music. Some where deep inside me wishes I could belt out the lyrics like other girls my age do.

After I pull my dark wash skinny-jeans over my tiny frame, I locate my favorite hoodie, zip it up, and   yank the hood over my head.

My dream about Flynn has left me unable to look at him, so I head out the door fifteen minutes early so I don't see the Commander on my walk.

The air has a bitter edge, and traces of winter are starting to show. All of the tree's are almost completely bare, and my breath hangs in foggy cloud above me when I exhale. A thin layer or frost covers the concrete below me, and the morning dew clings grass- iced over.

Upon reaching the doors of the school I yank them open. A blast of warm air hits me and starts warming my numb body.

I shove my belongings into my locker and head to my class. I walk with my head down, and my hood up. I run straight into a solid block of muscle.

"Kaylee, you know if you would put that hood up you could see. Plus, why are ignoring me Kay? Okay I shouldn't ask questions... Alright I'm making an ass out of myself. Lets go to class," Flynn says, placing a hand on my shoulder.

Shrugging out from his grip I duck into the one place he can't follow me into- the girls bathroom.

I lean against the flaking white paint of the cold wall and slide down until i'm on my knees. Tears form in the corner of my eyes, then spill down my cheeks.

Behind me a stall door creaks open. Liv comes out and slides to next to me. She puts an arm around me in a half-hug.

"Kaylee, don't cry." She whispers.

She doesn't ask if i'm okay, which I actually prefer.

God what I would give to be able to actually comfort somebody like that. To tell them everything is okay. I hug her back and she hands me a paper towel to wipe my tears. I silently thank her and she walks out.

After taking deep breaths I pull my hood back up and head to class. I wait outside the door until the bell is about to ring. I slide into my seat with just seconds left before the bell rings. Perfect timing.

I just need to make it through today.
