Shadow of the wolves

Chapter 3

A few months had passed and we had all changed. More and more deaths had happened and we were starting to get curious.

Today was going to be the first day we hunted together so we had all packed our bags and headed off to an area with acres of tree and grassland.

We were all so excited because we had never seen each other all phased before and we were anxious to hunt.

We had figured out the ranks in a pack and decided them:

Alpha Female = Danni (they had originally chosen me but i didn't want the responsibilty)

Beta = Luna

Delta = Keller

Delta = Rose

and finally

Omega = Ami 

I hadn't realised how pretty everyone else looked when we had phased! 

Danni was a jet black colour with piercing amber eyes.

Ami was sandy coloured with hazel/orangey coloured eyes.

Rose had bright blue eyes and a coat that was a mix of brown, black and white.

Keller had pure white fur with light gray tips on her head and tail that looked like a soft lilac colour and had purple eyes.

And I had a dark grey coat with striking yellow eyes. The only difference were mine changed to black when I was mad or focused, the others' didn't. Might be a gene thing.

We looked so much like a pack and i felt so close to them. I grinned a wide, wolf smile and i decided to try out the mind reading.

umm guys?

The others jumped

woaaa what the hell was that?

They all seemed to ask all at once except Keller who kept her violet eyes on mine. 

Yeah umm we can read each others minds I smirked

They all looked at me suprised. The mind reading sounded so weird. The thought echoed and got louder until it was clear.

I whinned and bowed my front legs with my tail wagging furiously in the air. I wanted to play.

Ami ran up to me and i lunged onto her back playfully nipping her side. She rolled over and we whinned with laughter. The others sat down.

After 20 minutes of playing, Danni barked an order to start hunting so we started sniffing the air.

Without warning i let out a joyful howl. The others stared for a second then joined in. I was so happy! We all were. Suddenly we heard footsteps behind us so we hid our stuff in a bush and ran towards the rich scent of deer. 

We stopped once we were in sight distance of the animals and lowered our bodies to the ground.

Slowly i started creeping forwards even though if they ran they didn't stand a chance.

On the count of three we will run. Go for the one on the outside there. Danni told us

I saw a deer that was slightly separated from the others. It was an easy target and i locked my silver eyes on its hide. 

1...2...3!!! Danni shouted in her head and we sprinted forwards.

The deer scattered in all directions but i was still focused on the deer ahead of me. Within a few seconds i was right behind her legs. I leaped into the air and felt it collapse beneath my paws. I swung around and gripped onto its neck with my teeth. The others caught up and sunk their claws and teeth into her legs.
