The Golden Bowl

Lisa's POV

It's been almost 2 weeks since me and Matt hung out together on the beach and he has neither invited me to come again nor texted me saying anything. I've begun to wonder about what was going on? I wanted to text him, but something inside of me wouldn't let me. What if he didn't text back? What if he actually never wanted to talk to me again?

Lisa, you're being stupid once again! I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. An explanation almost as perfect as Matt himself. Just then, my phone buzzed.

Matt!!

I looked down at my phone and saw a text from Ty. Ty? Ugh, I thought it was Matt! I got my hopes up for nothing!

I unlocked my phone and read the text.

T- Hey Lisa, wanna hang? I'm borreedddd! Can I come overr for dinnerrrr or somethinggg?

I sighed. Seeing as Matt would never text me I guess I could hang with Ty. Ty always made me feel better about myself. I quickly texted him back.

T- Yeah, sure! Come on over! I'll be waittingg for youuu!!

I smiled and ran out the room to announce to my family.

"Ty's coming over for dinnerr!!"

"Why do we care?" Lauren asked in a sarcastic joking manner

"You don't, but you don't wanna look like a random weirdo hobo thing." I replied back

I went back upstairs and waited for Ty to come over. After around half an hour I went and grabbed my phone. I saw a text from Matt.

Matt? My heart raced. I could feel it pumping harder and harder in my chest.

I quickly unlocked my phone and read the text.

M- Hey bby wanna hang? I promise this time will be better, there's this great restaurant quite close to my house, I thought maybe we could go? I got us reserved seats! (: I'll pick up up around 5?

I looked at the time, it was just 3:45. I glanced back at the text. Was this a date? Dinner, resaurants, reserved seats. I was excited. I texted him back asking about the dress and he texted back telling me casual.

Well, this will be great! A date with Matt! I couldn't wait. Then suddenly I remembered. Ty was coming over for dinner. Oh wow, what was I going to do? I couldn't blow my one chance with Matt. It could be the only chance I get to go on a date with him. Ty could come for dinner another time. I'm sure he'll understand, he's a great guy.

I went to Christina's room to tell her the news.

"I'm going on a date to some restaurant with Matt tonight, k?" I told her

"Wait, but I thought Ty was coming for dinner. That's what I heard from you about 40 minutes ago." she asked me looking confused

"Oh yeah, but I'm going out with Matt. He'll understand don't worry he's a great guy." I told her smiling

"Um, alright. If you say so." Christina said looking uncertain.

"It's fine, I'm sure! Don't worry about it" I said, and with that I left the room and went to get ready.

Matt said to dress casual so I decided to wear my black jeans and a dark blue tank top with my camo army jacket. I decided, even though dress was casual, to curl my hair.

By the time I was done it was 4:30. I decided to have a little snack before I left so I went to the kitchen to make myself a sand which. I know, dumb. I'm going out to a restaurant to eat dinner and here I am eating  a sand which before I go. Wow Lisa. Well, what can I say? Being a fatty comes naturally to me.
