*Jungkook's POV*

After I escorted her, I let her roam around as I went to go supervise around the ballroom.
"May I have your attention." The King taps a fork to his glass of champagne.
"I would like to announce today's occasion." He says.
"Tonight we are all gathered her to celebrate the Princess' engagement."

Engagement. That word echoed in my mind. The Princess is engaged? How can this be? It is because they no longer have a heir isn't it. I felt my heart fall just imagining (Y/N) with someone else.

"The Princess is indeed engaged to Prince Kai." He adds.

Out every Prince it had to be him. I felt my breathing go heavy and my hand ball up in a fist.

Everyone clapped, and continued their celebrating while I stood there looking as stern as ever.

My eyes wander trying to find the Princess, until I spot her at the snack table nibbling on appetizers. I chuckle shaking my head.

Suddenly Prince Kai walks over to her causing me to frown again. I try to read their lips, but all I could tell was that he was being his cocky self while the Princess was beginning to get annoyed.

"Jungkook-ssi." I turn around to see the king.
"Yes your highness." I bow.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Of course."
"Since I have noticed that you and (Y/N) are close, I wanted to ask if her marrying Prince Kai is a good idea."
"In all honesty, I understand why you wanted this marriage, and I cannot judge Prince Kai since I do not know him," I say honestly.
"But...I think they will do just fine together." I lie sighing under my breath.
"Thank you, Jungkook. I appreciate your honesty." He pats my back before walking away.

My face falls again once he leaves. I then decide to go over to the Princess.
"My Lady." They both turn to me, the Princess' eyes light up, but Prince Kai gains a scowl on his face.
"I have a message for you, please come with me." I tell her.
"Can it wait? You are interrupting our celebration." Prince Kai says.
"No, I would like to know what this message is, it could be important." The Princess buds in.
"Follow me then." I escort her to the hallway where no one could hear us.

"What is the message?" She asks.
"Why did you not tell me?" I ask.
"What?"
"About the engagement."
"I did not see a reason to tell."
"Why not?" I ask.
"Because."
"Because what?" I challenge.
"Because it is not easy to tell the love of your life that you are being forced to be with another man!" She says loudly.
"What?"
"You heard me."
"But you are a Princess and I am a guard, how can that be?" I ask shocked.
"Never mind then." She snaps before running to her away.
"Wai-" I was cut off when someone entered the hallway.

I turn back around to see the Princess already gone. I sigh making my way to the backyard. I sigh as I sat on a bench.

She told me she loves me, but why am I still frustrated. Oh yeah, it is because she is engaged, and upset with me. What am I supposed to do now?

I groan in frustration while burying my face into my hands. Suddenly I feel a wet drop on me. I look up, and it began to rain. Great.
"My night just keeps getting better, and better." I laugh bitterly.
"Jungkook-ah." I turn around to see Namjoon.
"Oh, hello." I try to smile.
"What are you doing out here?"
"Just thinking."
"Thinking about the Princess?" He raises an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"Cut the act Jungkook, I know you fancy her."
"How did you-"
"I see the way you look at her, and I can see that she feels the exact same way."
"I do not just fancy her, I love her."
"Then tell her."
"How can I? She is engaged, and she is upset with me."
"Who cares? I saw her confess to you, she would probably be thrilled to hear you repeat the words."
"Besides, she is not married yet, so take your chance, and make things right before it is too late." He adds.
"You are right."
"I always am."
