Ever since Trey proposed to me a year ago, I've been filled with immense happiness. However, I refrained from bragging about our engagement ring to avoid unnecessary attention to our upcoming wedding. As Trey and I began the preparations for our special day, December arrived, bringing with it the chilly winter season. Amidst the excitement, I realized I needed to purchase a Christmas gift for myself. Trapped at home due to the heavy snowfall, I found myself in a bit of a predicament. The weather worsened, and I was stuck indoors, waiting for the storm to pass. Suddenly, my phone rang, and it was Trey.

Brittney

I answered the phone and said "Hello?"

Trey said "Hey, baby girl."

I said "Hey."

Trey said "Did you hear the news about the blizzard?"

I said "Yes, I heard."

Trey said "The weather is getting worse but I would still like to come over and see you so I can keep you warm in this cold weather and I will also keep you company until the blizzard is over."

I said "Trey, I would love that. So that way, we can be together during this blizzard because I don't want to be apart from you for another second. Since I'm going to be your soon-to-be wife, I got a great idea."

Trey said "What's that, boo?"

I said "Why don't we cuddle up next to each other in a blanket to keep ourselves warm? Then after that, we can go up to my bedroom and make love like we usually do all the time."

Then Trey said "That's a great idea, boo. We can warm each other up before we do anything tonight."

I said "Ok. Come on over before the blizzard gets any worse."

Then Trey said "Ok. I'm on my way right now."

I said "Ok. Bye."

After hanging up with Trey, I promptly gathered blankets to stay warm, prepared hot chocolate, and set the table for dinner before the power outage. However, I had anticipated the worst and had an automatic generator ready just in case. As I finished preparing, I heard a knock at the door. It was Trey.

"Hey, baby," Trey said, giving me a kiss.

"Hey, sweetie," I replied.

Trey entered my house and was impressed by my extensive preparations for the storm.

"Wow, you've really taken this seriously, haven't you?" Trey remarked.

"Yep," I said, recalling my mother's advice: "It's always better to be prepared than not at all."

"Baby?" Trey asked.

"Yes?"

"I'm a bit chilly. Do you have a blanket I can borrow?"

"It's already on the couch, right in front of the fireplace," I said. "Let's snuggle up together and keep warm."

We wrapped ourselves in blankets and sat by the fireplace, enjoying each other's company. Just then, the news came on again with an update. The blizzard had finally passed. I was relieved to hear that the storm was over, but I was still grateful to have Trey by my side to keep me company.

Trey said "Baby?"

I said "Yes?"

Trey said "Now that the blizzard is over, can we go upstairs so we can do what we always do?"
