*END OF CHOCOLATE NOVEL*
It was 3 when Gabriel arrived at Applebee's, 3:12 to be exact, and Serena was already there. She was secretly thankful her parents were coke junkies because half of the time they didn't notice she was gone.
Serena was at a table with two glasses of water and a basket of mozzarella sticks.
"Hey gorgeous," he slipped into the booth seat vertical to her.
"Stop," she blushed but her tone wasn't as rosy as her cheeks.
"Are you mad?" he leaned over the table a little, his elbows on the glossy wood.
"I'm scared," she said.
"Why are you scared?" he asked and the waitress interrupted. They placed their orders after quickly scuttling through the menu and she left them to resume. "Everything's going to be fine. Melody will be out by next week and the kids won't be there, at least until the weekends I hope. You can come over whenever you want then," he smiled amusedly.
"No," she shook her head. "No, I-I don't know how to say this," she looked down at her nude painted nails.
"What, you don't want to do this anymore?" he reached out to touch her arm, but she jerked it away.
Time felt ever slowing to her and the greasy mozzarella stick aroma flew to her nose and she wanted to puke and her hands were shaking and she wanted to cry because she didn't want it to be true.
"I'm pregnant."
