The always lazy Sunday rolled in like a wave on the shore, bringing morning frost and a hot sun to melt it all. Noelle woke up with faint pain pulsing through her head and two nagging brothers arguing in the hall. She wanted to smash the empty wine bottle on the floor due to the anger filling her body, but she remembered that she thrown it in the trash the prior night, making sure to hide it under everything else. Her mother had barely left the room, not even to scream at Roman and Brady to stop bickering and her father showed up from work very late, so she was able to successfully hide the bottle.
She figured it was time to slip out of her comforting bed and eat something, so she trotted down to the kitchen. "Hey sweetie," her father's arm wrapped around her shoulders. "Sorry I came home from work so late. I was going to pick something up for you, but everything was closed, so I figured me and you could go out now?" he lead her to the kitchen island, scattered with 2 keychains, a Banana Nut Bread Candle, 3 enveloped letters and a small toy car. Noelle pondered the offer, remembering that she was planning to stop by Charlie's.
"Sure," she monotonously picked at her blush colored nails. She wasn't exactly thrilled to head out with her suddenly cheery dad, with a buzzing hangover and disappointment still lingering from her companionless Valentine's Day.
"Great!" he grabbed his keys and skipped out. Noelle was too enervated to question his hysteria, so she just followed him out to the car.
