Jake's POV:

"Kagen M.J. Hartwey, pretty weird name if you ask me." I said.

Today I wasn't going to be the fucking nice cop, this piece of shit had something to do with my wife's disappearance and I fucking know it. I had to pull, nearly drag this douche out of his house, to get him here.

"My father's name, I'm a Jr."

"Well I might be having a Jr. soon did you know that?" I looked at him, like he was dead to me, cause he is.

He looked even more wide eyed and surprised, "Congratulations."

"Fuck you, you don't mean that. After all you did kidnap her didn't you?"

"What?! Kidnap who?!"

"DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH ME YOU SON OF A BITCH! Where is my wife?!!" I shoved him against the wall.

"Why would I kidnap a girl, who has such a bright future with you. Has so much more life ahead of her..." He started tearing up.

"Don't play that cry baby bullshit, she told me everything! The parking lot, and you asking her on a date!!"

"I thought she was divorced, I barely got back from town a year ago! Do you not remember anything?"

"I don't remember you from when Y/N, and I had our wedding."

"I was there, I was. I promise you I didn't hurt her."

"Why did you come back, why'd you leave town for two years?"

"That's personal business, had to do with family."

"Hm, or were you in jail, locked up?"

"No!! Please, look I put this on everything I love. I did not touch her-"

"Where were you that night?"

"That night I was at home, tired. Very tired from work. I get off earlier than you of course."

"I don't care....prove you were at home, I'm going to get a warrant to search the place anyway." I chuckled briskly.

He looked scared. Oh he was hiding something.

"I was at home that night, I had a friend over, but he was drunk and he doesn't even remember. I asked him the next morning. He doesn't even remember. He was bragging about how he picked up some girl, he said bitch, and that he's going to show her a good time when he gets home. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. He did have a past record for sexual assault."

"Hm, what's this friends name?"

"Matthew Robinson."

"Ratting out a friend?"

"For her safety, and for the law, plus he's just a guy I work with. We only call each other 'friends', because I do most of his work for him, and I call him 'friend' to make him feel better."

I backed away from him, I took a deep breath, and ran my fingers through my hair. I could just hear her voice calling for help. I feel deep inside that she's not okay right now.

"Jake...I loved Y/N. Now as a friend. I didn't know you two were still together and I'm sorry. I am deeply, truly sorry. I would never hurt that woman. Cause she means a lot to me. She's been there for me actually through painful times. So please understand when I say this, I'd never hurt your wife, the love of your life."

I turned around to look at him. I felt the tears slide down my face. God I need to hurry and find her. Quick.

"Okay...okay." I went over to the door and opened it. "Get out."

He quickly walked over to the door, "If you need help with anything, here's my number." He handed me a card.

I took it and nodded. I shut the door behind him, and threw the card on the table. I've been through enough. God everything is just one emotional roller coaster. I just need to go home and rest. Going home is the best option right now.

(At home.)

Is it sad that I had to drink my night away? Cause that's the only way I could keep calm. I went upstairs to fall asleep, I jumped on the bed and looked around. Everything was hazy. Drowsy. I felt wrong. Cause I was missing her, she was the missing piece to my puzzle. And now that I don't have her I'm not put together.

I started feeling sick, that's when I felt a hand on my face. I looked up-

"Y/N? Baby your home."

She was wearing the beautiful red and blue dress she wore on our honeymoon.

"Shh, I'm okay, don't give up on me okay? Promise me."

"I promise I will not give up, I love you."

"I love you too. I love you lots."

"No babe-" I took a quick breather, "I need you, just tell me where you are, can you tell me please? A sign?"

She turned her head looking at the wall. I followed her eyes, she just looked out the window. The window was broken, busted. I sighed and shook my head.

"No, Y/N I need you to tell me where you are-" when I looked where she was suppose to be, she was gone.

I started to drift off, tonight was not my night. None of these past nights have been right.
