Jake's POV:

Last night was honestly terrible. Today will be even more if I don't get some evidence out of this guy. I got a warrant to search his place. I was praying to god I'd find something. Something. When I walked through his front door everything felt off, yet too normal.

"You only got a one storied house...thought it would be bigger."

"Nah, it's just me so what's the point?"

"A lot of guys that live by theirselves would kill to have a big two-three storied house to themselves."

"Well not me." He smiled.

I hated that look in his eyes. His dark brown eyes, hid a dark past. I checked in the kitchen, all the rooms, I checked in the attic, but he had no basement. I checked in the garage, and some door behind the garage. I checked the backyard, even in the shed.

"No basement?" I asked, I was asked out of luck.

"No basement. Just the attic." He nodded.

I turned my head and saw a door behind the couch. I looked at him then the door.

"What's behind there?" I walked over to the couch pushing it away from the door.

He unlocked the door, before he could twist the knob he sighed.

"Stand back, there's a lot of them." He said.

I pulled out my gun and pointed it at him, he jumped in fear.

"A lot of what?" I was uneasy and finally felt like I had something on this guy!

He didn't answer, but I kept pushing the question.

"A LOT OF WHAT?!"

"Just-"

He turned the door knob, as soon as he opened the door, I was so scared that I shot a bullet at his foot. He yelled in pain and fell to the ground. Notes, and papers, basically all mail fell out. I searched through them, yanking out the rest.

"DAMMIT! Why?!" He shouted.

"Fucking hell! You could've told me it was mail!"

I dialed 911, ordering for them to bring an ambulance. It didn't take long for them to arrive. When they did, I was kicked out of his house, getting my warrant torn up by the Chief. I sat on the sidewalk, staring across the street. Just the woods.

"You just had to fucking shoot the man?!"

"It was an accident-"

"Look Gyllenhaal I know you are worked up, tired, and-you smell like Jack. You've been drinking?!"

"Last night Cap! That was it!"

"Still you smell drunk, did you even get rest?"

"Barely, barely any."

"Well, you need, to go home-"

"No."

"And rest-"
