Prt.3 In Sight(2)

Jake's POV:

I sat on my hospital bed, wearing the same clothes from last night, wondering if Y/N is okay. They stitched above my brow, in the corner of my forehead, were the bullet grazed me. My eye was bloodshot, and above and below my eye my face was pure red. I looked down at the newspaper, trying to calm my nerves, then-

"A thank you would be nice." I look up to see her.

She held two cups of coffee in her hand. I stood up quickly, taking the coffees out of her hand, and hugged her. Hugged her as tight, but yet as gently as I could. I could feel her arms gently wrap around me.

"Thank you–I love you Jacob."

I sighed and smiled a bit, "I love you too Y/N."

I let go of her and looked at her. She was pale, her veins showed easily. She looked extremely sick, and weak. But she stood fine, and like she could walk laps perfectly around this hospital.

"Are you okay?"

"Me and the kid. They checked to see if anything messed with the baby, and I guess not. They said it is really early still so I just need to be careful." She placed her hand on my cheek.

I could tell she was looking for any signs to see if I was hurt anywhere else, or if I was okay.

"I'm fine." I made her sit and gave her the coffee she brought for herself back.

I grabbed my cup, and sat next to her. We stared at each other for a moment, and then she spoke.

"You know I thought it would've been Kagen. Assumptions are the worst."

"They are, I shot him in the foot." I took a sip out of the cup.

Her eyes widened, "WHAT?"

"Long story, I'll explain later. I think he's somewhere in the hospital I'm not for sure."

"Well I didn't ask for you to try and kill the man."

I chuckled, "I know babe."

"You know soon we'll be parents...I'll be a mommy, and you'll be a daddy. Then it will be dad and mom...then our baby will get older, want a car, wants to leave and explore-" I saw the tears pile up in her eyes.

I wrapped my arm around her, and made her come closer.

"Don't worry about all that, for right now I just need to take care of you, and you need to start taking care of yourself as well."

"I know," she nodded, "I know."
