VI
+Emma Griffon+

I wake up with a pounding headache. I walk down the hall and find that Liv is still asleep. I grab a bottle of water on the counter and greedily drink it. When I finish gulping the cool liquids down my throat, I sit on the couch and watch The Big Bang Theory. My show is interrupted when I hear my cell phone ring. Hmm...private number. I press the device to my cheek after I accept the call.

"Hello?", I say.

"Hi. This is Dr. Alves. I want to inform you that we advise you to come into our clinic for testing to see if we can't get your memories back.", Dr. Alves explains.

"Uh...sure. When?", I ask.

"Tomorrow at three o'clock.", He says.

"Okay, so...I'll see you then.", I say.

"Yes. Goodbye Ms. Griffon.", The doctor says and hangs up. Wow, I might be able to get my memories back.

"Good morning Emma.", Liv's voice breaks me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, yeah. Hi...um, I am going in for testing tomorrow to see if Dr. Alves can restore my memories.", I say.

"That's great. What time?", She asks gleefully.

"Two.", I say.

"Awesome. Looking forward.", She says and walks into her room. I decide to go over to Chase's to break the news. I take a shower and fumble through all my drawers to look for the right clothes. I settle with skinny jeans, a cardigan and black Vans sneakers. I throw my hair up in a pony tail and walk over to Chase's apartment. I knock on the door and a young girl around seven appears.

"Hello.", I say smiling.

"Who are you?", She says incredulously.

"Do you know where Chase is?", I ask.

"You mean my big brother?", She spits.

"Yes.", I say unsure.

"No idea. Why don't you go and look for him?", She says rudely.

"Okay. Uh...thanks.", I say and turn around. I have no idea where to go, so I stumble around the complex for a while. I cross a parking lot and find a skate park. I sit and lean up against a tree and close my eyes enjoying the sun and wind on my skin.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be resting?", Chase's voice brings me into reality. I snap my eyes open to find him staring at me intently with a hint a amusement in his eyes.

"I wanted to tell you something.", I say softly. He puts his skateboard down and leans against a tree.

"Well?", He coaxes me to go on further.

"I am going to go for testing. The doctors are going to see if they can restore my memory.", I explain. He looks shocked for a moment, but quickly recovers his expression.

"Okay.", He answers and walks toward the skate park. I'd expect a little more than that for a reaction, but so be it.

I pull out my phone and the time shows as ten thirty. I start to walk back. I unlock the front door and am greeted by my sister. She makes me a sandwich and I eat it slowly. When I'm done, I decide to text my best friend, Jack, but I just now realize that I forgot my phone at the skate park.

"Liv! I'm going back to the skate park for my phone!", I shout through the apartment.

"Whatever!", She responds back. I walk out of the door and go back to the skate park. When I revisit the tree I was sitting under my phone has disappeared. Chase must've taken it. I walk to his apartment and the same seven year old girl answers the door.
