I straddle my bike. Riding it to my apartment. I walk straight to my room making sure to slam the door shut. I jump on my bed and groan in frustration. I hear someone open the door, so I look to see who it is.

"Not now Mandy!", I say to my sister standing in the doorway.

"What?", She asks her voice rimmed with innocence.

"Nothing!", I yell in defence.

"What happened Chase?", She pushes. I scoop her up and put her in the living room. I walk back into my room and tie the door shut with a sweatshirt because my lock was taken away from me last year.

"Chase!", Mandy yells through the door while banging. I ignore her and climb out the window onto the roof just in time to watch the sunset.

"Beautiful, isn't it?", A voice calls. I turn to see Emma smiling.

"What are you doing up on the roof?", I ask still slightly angry from my conversation with Ms. Fletcher.

"Enjoying the sunset; what's wrong?", She asks, apparently she can tell I am still pissed.

"I'm flunking math.", I say.

"I'm sorry to hear that. Why don't you get a tutor?", She suggests.

"I did.", I answer.

"Oh really, who?", She asks curiosity dripping in her voice.

"Well, I've known her for quite some time now. She's beautiful and smart, but not in a geeky, nerdy way. She says I'm a jerk too.", I say.

"Just tell me who, ya big fat meanie.", She teases smiling.

"Oh, and she has a gorgeous smile.", I hint.

"If you don't tell me now, I'll jump across and strangle you.", She threatens.

"Her name is Emma Griffon. Heard of her?", I ask smiling.

"I didn't agree to tutor you. You didn't even ask me Chase.", She says.

"Will you tutor me?", I humor her.

"Why should I?", I ask.

"I'm failing and I need your help.", I respond.

"Fine. On one condition: you don't tell anyone.", She negotiates.

"Fine with me.", I say shifting my position.

"Aside from that...you think I'm beautiful and smart?", She says, blushing slightly.

"Yeah, but not in a nerdy, geeky way." , I add.

"Thanks. I have some news too.", She says.

"Oh?", I say back.

"I've known this guy. He's arrogant and stupid and a real jerk, but he's also very handsome and on some occasions, he's sweet and kind and caring.", She says.

"It sounds like a guy I'd beat up.", I mention.

"But the thing is he is also in my life and I wouldn't forget him in a million years.", She adds on.

"What's the guy's name?", I ask.

"He's protective and athletic, but his sister is annoying.", She rambles on .

"Emma!", I snap," What's the guy's bloody name?!"

"Harrison. Chase Harrison.", She says. In one easy motion, I jump from my building to hers.
