"You've got to be kidding me! Cheyenne are you sure you're feeling ok?" I asked my friend as she turned down the fries I had been offering.
"Lilly, yes I'm fine. Just feeling a little off lately." She complained pushing the fries away. "Anyways, we have a party to plan! I can't believe Rosie is about to be three. She's you made over." Cheyenne clapped happily as we payed the bill for our lunch.
"I know, seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital. She's gotten so big and acts just like her daddy." We both laughed at the thought. Rose was just as wild as he was, and her love for all things music I was certain she had gotten from him.
"I know right! She's a good mix of both of you and way too adorable."
Now that I couldn't deny. Rose was the light of my life and nothing was ever going to change that. "You're right about that." I chuckled. "Enough about the kiddo, tell how are you and Mikey getting along?"
"Yeah, um we're good. He keeps talking about getting married at some point."
"And you don't want to?"
"No, it's not that." Cheyenne looked away.
"Then what is it?" I asked searching her face for some kind of clue.
"I don't want to drag him down."
"What the hell are you talking about? I am sure he wouldn't think that you would do that to him."
"No, he wouldn't and that's the problem. He's got a lot going for him and I see how Luke and Ash both struggle with being away from you, Dani, and the kids. I don't want him to have any regrets."
I knew what she was getting at, I saw it everyday, but sometimes you just have to take a chance. "Okay, lemme tell ya a few things here. Yes Luke and Ash have to leave me and Dani to go on tours and promotions but, they're doing what they love! Cheyenne, I know what the struggle of this life is and ya know what? I wouldn't change it for the world. Even if it took me a very long time to see it."
"Yeah, you were kind of an idiot."
We both laughed, I was an idiot for a long time. And now, not so much. I wouldn't trade any of it. I got to where I am and I'm happy with my life and I want Cheyenne to be happy with her life too. "Tell me what's really going on."
Cheyenne groaned
. "Alright! but, this stays between you and me , for now." She looked a little worried as she stopped walking and sat on a bench, pulling me with her. "I-I'm pregnant. About eight weeks now and I have no idea how or what to tell Michael."
Once she started it all came out. "Oh my god! Cheyenne, that's amazing!"
"I know, miracle of life and all. But, what am I gonna tell him. Like I've tried and it just never seems to want to come out. Lil, I'm terrified of what he's gonna say or do. What if he doesn't want the baby? What if he doesn't want me?"
I wipe away a few tears from her eyes as they start to fall. "Hey. Don't worry Mikey is gonna be thrilled. I heard him and the guys talking the other day and he wants a family with you."
"Really?"She asked with a thick voice.
"Yeah." I nodded smiling at her. She needed to know that no matter what Mikey wanted her, he wanted what Luke and Ashton had with Dani and I. "You wanna go home?" I asked her and she nodded as we stood walking back to her car. I took the keys from her and drove us back to the house she and Mikey shared. I walked in with her, the guys were there working on some new music. Dillon and Rosie came running as soon as they heard the door open. "Mommy!" Rose clung to my leg as Cheyenne closed the door behind us.
"Hey kiddo." I smiled picking her up and giving her a kiss. "You and Dillon being good for Daddy and the rest of em." She nodded as she wiggled free and ran back into the other room where we heard the guys laughing about something one of them had said. That was normal they all thought they were the funniest things ever. We followed her and set our bags down. "You four are something else." I chuckled ruffling Ashton's hair as I walked past him.
Mikey smiled at Cheyenne as she sat on his knee. "Well, I think I'm pretty damn adorable." He laughed and so did everyone else.
"Keep telling yourself that. Oh, and we all have dinner plans tonight." I smiled looking around the room. Cheyenne and I had come up with a plan on the way to her house.
Later that night we all gathered at the restaurant. Everyone was there, Luke, Dani, Dillon, their newest addition Lyla, Calum and his girlfriend Nyssa Mae, Ash, Rose, our newest additon Jasmine and I as well as the parents and a few friends. It was nice to have everyone there and so happy too. After we all finished eating Cheyenne looked at me and I nodded smiling as she pulled a piece of paper from her bag. She took a deep breath handing it to Michael who looked rather confused as he read it till the very last word.
"Wait, are you?" He asked a little breathless.
She only nodded as he jumped up from the table and ran around the dining room showing anyone who would give him the time. "I'm going to be a dad!" He yelled over and over as he made his way around.
"Wait! there's more." Cheyenne laughed pulling out a small ultrasound picture that I didn't even know about. "It's twins." She said quietly as she handed him the picture. You could have heard a pin drop as he tried to sit down, he missed the chair and fell on the floor.
"This is the best day ever!" He all but squealed as he laid there.
