[your POV]

"Wow. I never imagined I'd be talking to the number one." You thought to yourself as you went about your normal morning routine, though more sluggish as you had slept in an odd position that provided the polar opposite of rest. Pulling on more casual clothes for the Saturday ahead, and running a brush through your (h/l), (h/c) hair, you headed out to see what was going on today. Maybe you could meet up with some friends at the Underground Mall or something like that.
You were about halfway there, pondering over wether or not you should tell your friends about the night before, when you heard your friend call from behind you. "(Y/n)!!!! Hey wait up!!!"
"Oh. Hey, Chess." You greeted your friend, a brown haired, blue eyed girl just a little taller than you. She wasn't in the same school as you, but you met at a parade when you spilled your soda all over her. She was two grades above you, and a level 4 pyrokenetic, whereas you were at a level 2 right now with your (esper of choice).
"What's up?" She asked, catching up beside you.
"I was just going to go wander around the mall for a while if you wanna tag along." You replied, stuffing your hands in the pockets of your pants.
"Sure why not? I mean I kinda need to pick up a book anyway so if you don't mind me wandering into the bookstore..." She trailed off, adjusting her black rimmed glasses.
"No. Go for it." You said, and the two of you just had a pointless talk about anything that came up, laughing about a mistake on the news and things like that, until you entered the building.

You were sitting outside the bookstore while Chess was picking up her book, minding your own business and watching people go by.
You didn't even notice at first when the biggest jerk in your class walked up with his crew and stood in front of you. You looked up to see his grinning face. "You're in my seat, nerd."
"I don't see your name on it." You replied with the same uninterested tone.

[Accelerator's POV]

All I came down here for was one thing. That was it. I never expected, out of 2.8 million people in Academy City, to run into the same person twice. The familiar face caught my eye and all I saw was her seeming uninterested but bothered by the five people, three boys and two girls.
"I could go over there and shut them up easier than anyone else, considering she did get me off those train tracks last night..." I thought, suddenly hating morality. But it's not like I was putting my life on the line for anyone, I wouldn't pull a stunt like that. They were just punks and it would kind of repay the small debt I had to her. "This is bound to just be a bother..." I thought, but walked over anyway, standing behind the five kids. "Oi! Leave the girl alone. She isn't bothering anyone." I said calmly, but firmly.
The leader turned around, followed by the others. "Did I ask for any interference?" He threatened, but it didn't scare me.
"Tch....I'm playing the nice guy here so if you would just back off before things have to get ugly, and go on your merry way, that would be great, because I'm not in the mood to have to fight some lowlife punk for no good reason." I responded with a half sigh. Why the hell was I going out of my way for this girl? I don't know, but I was, no turning back now.
"And who do you think you are, snowflake?" He asked, mocking my appearance.
"Me? Just Accelerator." I responded with a grin. That made the guy back off, followed by his crew. Clearly they weren't about to face me, and that was a pleasing sight. Someone wasn't going to pick a fight with the top.
"Hey, Accelerator. Nice seeing you again." (Y/n) said, standing.
I looked back to her with a nod. "Yeah but I should be going."
"Oh. Okay. Well I guess I'll see you around." She said with a shrug and a small smile, and without another word, I was gone.
