Opening the front door, I walk straight to the kitchen. I can't wait any longer. My stomach needs food. Now!
"Saph, your home!" Lilith greets from behind the counter. I grumble a response, heading to the fridge.
Looking inside, I find a bowl of fruit salad. I guess. Grabbing the bowl, along with some chocolate frosting, I sit across from Lilith on the island.
"Dear, don't you want to wash up before having your snack?" Lilith asks, her nose scrunches up.
I stab a strawberry and dip it inside the frosting before eating, "I can't. I need to eat."
She shakes her head. "Is that like a new perfume for teens nowadays?"
I knew I was starting to smell.
"No. I've been running this whole day," I answer, licking frosting off my fingers.
Lilith nods, running a wrinkled hand through her gray hair. "Arggie came in a little while ago smelling exactly like you are. I sent her up to shower."
"Alrighty then. Imma hit the showers then," I stuff the last bits into my mouth and jug down a glass of milk. Lilith doesn't say anything but takes my bowl to the dishwasher.
Racing up the stairs, I'm surprised I didn't run into at least one of my sisters. The house may be big but its not that big, I'm bound to run into at least one of them.
Taking a long and much needed shower, I hear our doorbell go off from downstairs. I quickly slip out the shower and threw on my Friday night pj's. Fluffy polka-dot shorts with a pink spaghetti strap.
Walking down the stairs, I hear chatters coming from the living room. I walk in to see my sisters and Axel piled on the couch watching t.v. Scarlett sat in the middle with Argent and Axel flaunting her sides and then Lilac on the other side of Argent. Battle jumped up from his resting spot when he sees me and launches himself onto me, happily barking.
"Missed you too, pal." I rub behind his ear.
Lilith walks into the room, informing us of our parents. "They were abruptly called away today and will be back by Sunday morning. There's some money stuck to the fridge for your pizza. I'm heading out, are you darlings sure you don't want me to stay tonight?"
We all shook our heads and Scarlett speaks up. "Its fine, Lilith. Your family needs you more than we do. Its just a couple nights and Axel is here."
Lilith nods her head with hesitation and bids her goodnight.
"Did you just got home?" Argent asks when I sat on the floor in front of them, in between Scarlett's legs after seeing Lilith out. Battle rests his head on my lap.
I grabbed the popcorn bowl, munching on the salted snack. "Yup. Meathead made us sprint today. What are we watching?"
"Us?" It was Lilac who asks. Shit.
"Yeah. Trevor and I."
Scarlett - being a violent person - yanks my head back by the hair. I wince and look up to the wide eye girl. The others share the same expression.
"Trevor?! But - how? What?"
My neck begins to cramp at the uncomfortable, I yank my hair out of her grip and rubbed the scalp.
"We have P.E together and we showed up late to class so, Meathead made us run laps." Now I'm regretting opening my mouth.
They go quiet for a while until Argent - I'll kill her for this later - asks the one question I dreaded the most.
