I clapped when I finished my haven. I finally finished what I planned for three straight days! I smiled and looked at my bandaged wrists. "You're healing!"
I walked around my new-designed home. I touched my family picture. "Mom and dad! I miss you. I don't want to follow you anymore too soon. I still have to find Klein. How I wish you're still here and say, 'We're so proud of you, Kaye.' because I made a haven."
I sighed. I don't want to cry anymore. I still have to do my mission. I put back my family picture on the table. I smiled to myself and screamed, "Fighting!"
I got my backpack and wore it. How will my classmates react after I come back? Will they be happy? Maybe not, because I don't excel in any academic tracks.
Before my parents were gone, they left me a note where their bank accounts are mine now. I just have to take care and learn how to save.
I rode my bike and cycled to my school. The guard was suprised to see me. "Kaye! I thought you really died!"
I laughed and parked my bicycle in the guard house. "Well, I decided not to kill myself." and I winked at him. "I gotta go, Lucas!"
He waved at me as I run to my classroom. I threw my bag at my seat and smiled to myself.
"KAYE! I'M GLAD YOU DIDN'T KILL YOURSELF AND LISTENED TO ME!" Our class 1st rank, which is my friend, Trisha stormed to me and gave me a tight hug.
"I thought you're a ghost because you're pale."Ryan, a half Korean guy tapped my shoulder.
"I lost some blood!"I straightly told him and laughed. I thought they won't be happy to see me.
Trisha slapped me and she suddenly cried. Aw. That hurts.
"Do you know how much I cried when I thought you're gone?! Do you know how much I love you?! I thought you won't realize you need to live!" She continued to cry at the floor. Ew. Ugly. I chuckled. I'm just kidding.
"I just realized that a week ago." I answered her.
"She had been emotionless since you were absent. She did not even recite and did not listen to the lessons."Ryan crossed his arms as we watch Trisha cry.
Really? That's my effect to my friend?
We heard a scream from the class muse. "Ghost!" And she fell to the floor unconscious.
Ryan just chuckled at her reaction. He craned his neck to look at me. He smiled. "By the way, welcome back, Kaye. Hope you enjoy life."
He sat at his seat which is two seats away from me. He crossed his arms again.
I sat to my seat and watched Trisha cry again. She doesn't stop.
I smiled and sighed. A new life for me.
--
I went to the cafeteria with Trisha and Ryan after the class was dismissed. The whole school knew me for being the "Dead Girl". They were surprised I smiled. I'm just a bit pale but I don't mind.
I noticed some students chitchatting.
"I thought that girl killed herself?"
"Why did she come back?"
"Tss. Can't she just rot in hell? She doesn't deserve to live."
"She should just continue to hurt herself. She's ugly."
"I'm disgusted."
"Her friends are very different compared to her."
"She doesn't excel in academics because she kept on slitting her wrist."
"I thought it was a ghost."
"She's not a smartass."
I was cut on listening to the students when a hand touched my arm. It was Ryan. He smiled at me.
"Don't believe them."
I smiled back and slurped some ramen soup. "I don't care anymore."
I took a glance on his hand for him to remove it. I definitely saw a bandage on his left wrist. I did not mind about it. We're wearing a coat. He's probably wearing something else underneath.
I fake-coughed and he hurriedly removed his hand. I finished my ramen. Trisha was looking at me. I raised an eyebrow.
"I'm glad you're back." A tear escaped her eye. I chuckled.
"How many times would you say that? And stop crying. I'm already fine."
I stood up and they followed me. We walked to our room.
"Trish, you can go first. I need a talk with Ryan."
She only smiled and nodded. She entered our room. I signalled Ryan to follow me.
We went to the roof top and I heave a sigh as soon as we reach it. I stood in front of him and crossed my arms.
"I think it's my turn to help. What are you doing with your life Ryan? Are you well?"
He smiled. It was a fake smile. I have noticed that smile since he welcomed me a while ago.
"Can I see your wrist?"
He refused to show me. I took his left hand to see his wrist. "Can I?"
He frowned. He took his hand back and let it slide to his pocket.
"Were you slitting your wrist? Self harm?"
He did not answer. "Silence means yes, Ryan."
I took a step forward and hugged him. "If you're ready to tell me, just... tell me, Ryan. Trisha and I, we're just here."
I suddenly escaped a chuckle. "It's a funny thing. When I wanted to die, You and Trisha were helping me. Now, it's me and Trisha."
Now, my Auxilium Haven is open.
