Mackenzie's POV-

August 8th, 2016

The rest of the day went by pretty fast. Mark is in my math class so ayy thats lit. I always have a good time when he's around. French is the worst because my teacher only lets us talk French during the class and I don't understand half the things she's saying. And one of my favourite subjects is woodshop because I just like making stuff and my teacher is pretty fun too.

Eventually it was time to go home. I walked to my locker and put my books away then slammed my door shut. My quick little feet traveled down the stairs into the main hangout area then to the door that led me outside. I saw the bus doors close so I ran as fast as I could to the doors and frantically waited hoping my bus driver would open them. She saw me and opened them quickly then said "Next time, come a little earlier because this is your only chance I'm letting you on when you're late." I nodded and quickly stumbled down the walkway trying to find Mark. Loren doesn't take the bus home, only to school so I usually sit with Mark on the way home.

The bus stopped outside my house. "Thank you," i said to the driver before walking off. "Grandma, I'm home," i yelled when i walked inside. "How was school, dear?" she said. "It was good," I said. "Just good?" she replied. "I mean it was school, there's nothing really great or exciting about school," i laughed. She just smiled.

I walked upstairs to change into sweatpants. High-waisted shorts can be pretty uncomfortable. But I remembered that Hunter gave me a note earlier. I was supposed to text him. My hands furiously fumbled trying to get the note out of the pocket. I sat down on my bed then typed in Hunter's number into my phone for a new contact. I texted him saying "Hey" because what else was I supposed to say?

A few minutes later I got a text back.
H = Hunter
M = Mack
H - Hey meet me at the park down the street :)
M - When?
H - In 10 mins
M - K lol see you there
I kept my sweats on but put on a pair of white converse. "I'll be back soon grandma, just going for a walk," I yelled before closing the door. Hopefully she heard that.

Eventually I reached the park and saw Hunter sitting on a swing. As soon as he saw me, I saw a smile spread across his face a the sparkle in his eye get brighter. He stood up from the swing and gave me a hug. "I missed you," I heard him say. "But, I saw you earlier," I giggled. "It doesn't take very much time for me to miss someone," he laughed. "So, anyways, why did you wanna meet me?" I asked. "I don't know, just wanted to hangout I guess," he said. "Have you ever been down to the meadow?" I asked him. "No, where's that?" he asked. "About a 5 minute walk down that trail. I go there all the time," I said. "Maybe you should bring me there," he said. "Then, let's go," I said and we both smiled.
