My mother? But... How?
I'm sitting by myself on my bed staring down at my hands. I have yet to gain the courage to go down and face the woman who claims to be my mother.
I clamp my hands into fists as I glare at them.
How can she even compare herself to a mother?
"She left me." I mumble out angrily, tightening my hands causing my knuckles to go white.
I'm pulled out of my thoughts as I hear a light knock on the bedroom door.
"Andy?" I hear Aiden's voice call me softly on the other side.
"Yeah." I sigh back to him. I was to see her. I have so many questions to ask her about what happened, where she and dad went, why they left.
But at the same time, I don't want to be near her. She left me. All alone. No note. Nothing.
Suddenly I feel the bed dip next to me as Aiden drapes an arms around my waist pulling me close to his side, wiping away tears that I hadn't even noticed were spilling from my eyes.
"You don't need to see her now if you don't want to." He says softly, lightly stroking away my tears.
I don't want to see her.
You should.
Why now are you coming into this, Amaris? I ask her sharply, feeling my hands turn into fists again.
She'll have answers. You need them. We need them.
She left me!
I let out a quiet sob as memories of thirteen year old me walking downstairs to realise I'd been abandoned by the two people I loved the most.
I know. But don't you want to know why?
Do I?

"Mum? Dad?" I cried out, trying to find where they'd gone. Were they at the shops? They wouldn't have left without telling me.
"Mum! Dad!" I screamed out searching every room for some sort of sign where they'd gone.
I'd woken up to an eerily quiet house. Usually I'd wake up with the smell of bacon and eggs dad would be cooking, while listening to the sweet humming from my mum as she'd make coffee for my dad. But this time, there was nothing.
No cooking, no humming, no other sounds other than my own frantic breathing as I raced through the house trying to find them.
"Where are you?" I yell, falling to my knees crying loudly, hoping that they'd come out and tell me it was all a joke.
But they never did. They were gone.

"Let's go." I say firmly as I stand up from the bed gripping onto Aiden's hand for support.
"Are you sure?" He asks quietly, standing up from the bed before staring into my eyes. "If you're not ready, you don't have to."
I give him a light smile. Damn he's sweet. I give his hand a squeeze for reassurance.
"I'm sure."
Just as I'm about to walk out the room he pulls me against his chest and places his lips on my mark softly causing a shiver of delight to run through my body.
